Default The Devil Went Down To Georgia.

    Spotted this on CNN. http://edition.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/09...tml?eref=onion

A couple of questions I have regarding this story are, how could one person manage to overcome 8 adults in one trailer home, and not sustain incriminating marks, and, if it was the man arrested, how dumb is he to phone it in and try to blag it out?

I'm guessing demonic possesion as an eventual plea.

Seven adults and one three-year-old, who's on life support at a hospital. The police won't say just how the people were killed, or if there were signs of forced entry.

Not that it's exactly hard to break into a mobile home. Did you ever do that when you were committing your crimes, Ivan?

Baldwin might either think it is funny, or maybe a bit edgy and antagonistic, but I'm just going, "Meh! Whatever, you tit!"

( I'll agree it was a slightly odd question, to say the least. )

How about simply answering the question? You've started a thread dealing with a serious crime that may include house-breaking. Unlike me, you have house-breaking experience.

Is this supposed to make sense? How's about you stop making unwarranted accusations.

ETA: Doesn't seem to be any new information on the story. In the 911 call Heinze made (according to the linked CNN article), he said, "it looks like they've been beaten to death." At the same time, the arrest warrant for Heinze refers to him removing a shotgun from the trailer and hiding it in his car. It hard to imagine eight people in one trailer being either beaten or shot without it making a lot of noise.

You mean this one, Baldwin? Would you like to specify what "that" is, first?

Sorry! I meant, did you ever break into a mobile home?

Now CNN is saying that Heinze Sr., one of the victims and the father of the main suspect, had just come into a $25,000 settlement. Doesn't sound like much, but there were ten people living in that trailer, bringing in about $10,000 a year total.

Heinze Jr. was originally only charged with tampering with evidence and minor drug possession. He was let out on bond and was actually on his way to the funeral home when they arrested him, brought him back to the Sheriff's Dept. and charged him with eight counts of murder. (Eight, not seven; I guess that means the three-year-old in the hospital died.)

I don't know if it's a double-wide or single-wide mobile home, but either way that's a small house for ten people.

There don't appear to be any other suspects, and if it is Heinze Jr., I guess we'll know what happened, even if we never understand why.

Thanks. I don't think I've ever heard of mobile homes in Britain, and I don't know if they have the same kind of cultural significance there.

In the U.S., trailers are associated with rural poverty and (fairly or otherwise) with "white trash". I've lived in a pretty nice one in a nice pastoral setting, but often the trailer parks are dirty, run-down and terribly depressing. (And even the nicest trailer is inherently flimsy compared to a proper house. If there's a tornado, forget about finding a safe room inside the trailer, because the whole place is going to be destroyed.)

If you've seen the tv show My Name is Earl, picture Joy's trailer park without the quirkiness and charm.

Official warning: Baldwin, after reviewing the links and discussion among the mods, we agree that you have had a pattern of pointedly referring to and criticizing ivan's past in conversations where it's not relevant. We have asked you twice now in one thread to please stop, and you refused, so this is now a warning. If we see it again, you will spend some time in the cage.

You're mistaken, and I'm a bit tired of being harassed by the mods. We will not discuss this any further.

Heinze to public: Find "real killers" in Brunswick slayings

The Glynn County Police Chief says Heinze acted alone and bludgeoned all the people. No idea what the forensic evidence is, of course. I wonder if the cops have clear evidence and an open-and-shut case, or if they just haven't a clue about any suspect except Heinze. Maintaining his innocence is what you'd expect from either an innocent suspect, or any suspect with a lawyer.

Apparently the 3-year-old child is in fact still surviving, or was on Wednesday.

How the heck can one person bludgeon seven teenagers and adults to death all by himself? How the heck could he do it without a pack of them taking him down while he's whacking away at one victim? So there was a shotgun involved, maybe? But still, how can anyone beat someone to death -- in the tiny confines of a trailer, no less -- while still keeping a shotgun covering everyone else?

When someone is in a rage and on rampage people tend to cower and hide. Typically it takes training to face off against an out of control attacker. At the very least it takes forethought in a panic situation.

Well, frankly, I have to imagine that in a situation in which that many people were living in a trailer, probably there were substance abuse issues at play. If the adults were all passed out drunk, it becomes a lot easier.
