Looks good, even if that elephant is decidedly un-mellow.

Yeah, that elephant looks kind of pissed, actually!

Will this new board have leather seating on all models, or will that be an upgrade?

I want a "Smokers Only" section, please.

Looks nice. So when will the address change from pachydome.com to mellophant.com?

The smokers section is out the back door by the tree. Please police your butts or we'll have to make you leave the property.
    Welcome to Mellophant.

We started with nothing and we still have most of it left.

Before we go live it looks like but probably not before we start testing. The Site seems to be propagating which is the first step and elmwood is making the major change, but there will probably be dozens manual tweak to fix everything in the Admin panel. However, elmwood might tell me he has a tool to do all of this quickly. I am on the low end of the learning curve currently.

Great. I just don't want to get left behind, not knowing where the website is. I'd be like a little child abandoned in a game of hide-and-seek, all my friends having run "Home" without telling me where it is. So alone. Big hot tears rolling down my cheeks.

This address will point to or redirect to the new one. The Pachydome will probably also point to mellophant.com for a while, maybe as long as a year. Giraffe at least will probably let us make an announcement and I think I can mention the the existance of the new name on the dope, but I will let them decide that. I don't want to leave anyone behind. I hope to get some old posters back and get some new ones.

If everything goes according to plan:

    * All the old posts will be at the new site.
    * All old accounts and passwords will be valid at the new site. (That's why we're not having you register yet; it's MUCH more difficult to merge new accounts with old than to just import a database)
    * There will be a page redirecting visitors from domebo.net to mellophant.com. The redirection page should be maintained for several months.

This week is a difficult time to work on the site, because this week is packed with night meetings; Planning Commission yesterday ran until 9:30 PM, and there's a long City Council meeting tomorrow night. Tonight I hope to work on domain name issues, and maybe moving the database. Whether I move the database tonight or Friday, DOMEBO WILL BE AN AMNESIA BOARD AFTER THAT POINT. That means posts made on DoMeBo after the database is moved will not be transferred to the new site, accounts registered and changes to accounts (passwords, email addresses, avatars, etc) will not be transferred; basically, just like the Pit on the SDMB during the one weekend last year when the site was moved to a new server. There will still be a few days of testing and tweaking after the database is moved.
