Default Drama Queens and the inability to let go

For full disclosure, I posted something similar somewhere else on the internet, but since I was quoting from this board, it would be better posted here. There is nothing in this post that isn't on this board or directly linked to.

There is Liberal. The whiny, sad, drama queen Liberal

Liberal wrote on March 2nd, 2009 on this board, in a thoughtful OP entitled "Causing problems on SDMB" started by CRSP, that he was done posting on the dope.

This gave me hope. Liberal was claiming that he was going to quietly walk away from the SDMB, and that's the class thing to do. Good for him.

However, he couldn't stand it. No one missed him. 5 days pass. So what does he do? On March 7th, 2009, he writes this pathetic plea for acknowledgment, which some of you have unfortunately stumbled on called We're finally moving!, a clever opus written, as Liberal claims in his not-so-subtle OP called 37,601, that "It was just a flow of thought, really." Uh, yeah.

The grand OP, 37,601 reads as follows:

with a link to his "Look at me! Please notice me and tell me how great I am! PLEASE! Validate me!" post on the SDMB. And then, paranoia sets in.

After the obligatory "Great post, Lib!", "Beautiful post, Lib!", and the other ego-stroking mutual masturbation postings, Liberal notices that his thread is sinking like a stone. His reasoning?

    Quote Originally posted by Liberal

Really? That's the reason it's sinking? Or perhaps people just don't want to jerk you off in public on a message board. Perhaps they just don't care. It is possible, you know.

Then someone points out the obvious. Jeff has the balls to actually post it.

    Quote Originally posted by Jeff

There you have it. An actual observation. Jeff is then pummeled with the normal vitriol expected from the Usual Suspects. To his credit, Jeff stands by his analysis of the situation.

But wait! Liberal gets another chubby in his pants because his thread is moved to ATMB and points it out with (bizarre) glee.

The only thing good that came out of the post that it was indeed Liberal's last post on the SDMB. 37,601. Wow. Thirty seven thousand, six hundred and one posts. My God. Is that even possible? I guess when you can just hammer out an OP like the "We're finally moving!" by "flow of thought", I guess anything is possible. Stephen King doesn't even write that much.

Liberal - what a fucking tool.

I'd mention QED, but he'll be in here soon enough, telling me what a drama queen I am. or not. He's so angry he doesn't know what to do.

Guys, we have a new board here. Why can't you just let it go already? Is this truly all you have? Get a hobby. Get a dog. But for god's sake, get a life. The SDMB won't miss any of us.

And if you are truly interested in changing the SDMB, then why be here?

I know there are certain members that will have to have the last post here, so have at it.

Let me see if I have this straight. You start this very thread in the Pit. It gets locked. You then go into an ATMB to poke me with a stick some more. Then you come here and repost this thread all over again.

And we're the ones with an inability to let go? Okay.

I almost posted this over there, but decided you were not worth it.

I always love it when one Drama Queen gets riled up over someone else and accuses them of the same behavior that they themselves are showing with their Great Big Show Of Outrage.

God, really? If you are so invested in a new start why was your first instinct to run squealing over there to get your back patted? Be honest, you only brought this here because your other thread was locked.

Time line, for those who care:

At 6:29 PM today, StinkFP posted this on the SD.
At 7:05 PM, Gfactor shut his thread down.
At 7:55 PM, he made the noble decision that it just wouldn't be fair or right to post where Liberal had announced he wouldn't be responding, so he took it upon himself to post it here, just because "it would be better posted here."

Lying douchebag. And as long as you're so interested in "full disclosure," you may just be a stupid cunt as well.

(For even fuller disclosure, this tedious wanker had the balls to PM me on the SD at 7:28, a half hour after Ed himself and Gfactor had informed him of exactly what violation he had committed, to ask why I had reported his post. Disingenuous asshole.)

I've been looking over your post, and I realize you may have a point. I just want to say that if I've offended you in some way, then I'm truly sorry.

It wasn't my intention to be rude when you lashed out and attacked me. I have only your best interests at heart. I'm not normally this way, but it's just these damn wars in the Middle East and that son of a bitch Limbaugh. I've had a lot on my plate and no one to care about me. Not the way you do.

If you wanted to hurt me, then you have succeeded. I suppose I deserve your derision and ridicule since I did not live up to your expectations. I do not want you to feel in any way guilty for what you have done to me. Though others surely blame you, I do not. Not totally anyway.

So if you can find your way to stay, I promise to bring you some goodies in the very near future. I cannot tell you now what they are, but only that you will be pleased. And I promise to welcome you with open arms. I will not hold a grudge. Nor will I heave upon you any harsher rhetoric than you can bear.

Come to me. I open my arms to you. I'm going to change, and I mean it! I have my people working on all of your complaints and concerns. All I ever wanted was for us to have a clean relationship free from words that offend me. Like "periwinkle". And "yodling". I see now that I was wrong to demand this from you, even though nothing will change.

And in return, I ask nothing more than that you let me lick the bacon off your ass. I can smell it. I know it's there.

"we" club? WTF? That's the problem. You are all still jonesing over the SDMB and now you are in bunker mentality. neener neener neener.

    It's pathetic.

And prr, I don't have a problem with you reporting my post. I just didn't understand why.

Posting it there or here didn't matter to me. I posted it there because I happened to be on that board. Board war? Seriously? I didn't link to this board.... what the hell is a board war?

Of course I posted it here because it was locked there. But I would have posted it here anyway. Liberal's lack of posting doesn't stop him from reading responses to his thread. He eats it up with a spoon. I would have posted it here just to give Liberal a chance to hammer me back. Fair is fair, and I pitted him on a board he isn't posting to any more. I should have posted it here first.

when I hit 200 posts in a week, you can call me a drama queen. Hell, between the three boards, I don't have a thousand posts in 10 years. Who gives a shit?

QED, Oakminster, Liberal, you could all be socks for one person. An angry old man who doesn't like kids on his lawn. We vs. They. We are smarter than them. The problem is, at some point, you will wind up with a board of 5 people ( and the hangers on that love to slurp your balls to be part of the "in" group.)

You aren't tools. You are the fuckin' toolbox.

Spineless cuntwaffle? Cool. I can see why you left the dope. It amazes me how you think that a bad name is going to scare people away from this board. You are a joke, and so is Liberal. At least QED used to add value to the dope. The guy has a brain. I hope he returns to that here. But the constant anger and complaining over at the dope is proving what, exactly? Take a look at some of those OP's in ATMB. Stirring up shit for the sake of stirring up shit? How many of those threads have been started by people who supposedly left the dope for greener pastures?

People aren't talking here. People are slobbering here. Cyber-friends. For the kids who got picked last in gym class. How long did it take for the juvenile thread "who do you hope doesn't come over from the dope?" Gotta love that. I'm sure CRSP wants a board full of right minded people who think the way you think. Diversity is a great thing, as long as everyone is just like you. This place has a pack mentality. And you love it.

QED can take care of himself. I wasn't trolling him, but I'm not afraid of him either. Or you. Or Liberal. Or anyone that claims that THIS BOARD IS GREAT while being unable to be above the bullshit that drove you away from the dope in the first place. QED is complaining about a Lynn Bodini sticky? Does he really give a shit, or is he just trolling? Why don't you just delete Beyond Thuderdome? You can't. It's like the girlfriend/boyfriend who broke up with you and you just can't accept it.

What are you talking about? Board wars? There would actually be one? What are you, 12? I understand the concept of one, but have never seen one. Do you actually fear a board war from the dope? This is the mature group. The high minded folks. The smart ones. The posters the Dope will miss. Ed will be sorry! Please. Get some of that bacon that Liberal craves. Stick it In your ass. He seems to enjoy eating from there.

    You decided I wasn't a "we" remember?

C'mon dude. Did you forget already?

There are what, 500+ people on this board? Think I'm going to be sad if I'm not in your "group"? no. I'll get over it. In fact, I already did.

What you don't realize, Oakminster, is that I, for one, was hoping that these boards would be a new start. That's one of the reasons why I wanted to see this board and the Giraffe board merge. But, since that wasn't to be, I still want both boards to survive. I don't really care what happens to the dope. If what I hear is true and CL is going (or in) chapter 11, odds are the board will be shut down unless someone wants to pick up the tab.

But I still read the dope. I'll post there from time to time until it dies or I stop visiting. But the constant bitching and complaining from some of you who have made domebo your home is petty.

I'm sorry. I wanted his definition of a board war. I don't think the admins of either board would allow such a thing. To me, a board war is not going to happen between two boards whose members are primarily adults.

I could have been clearer. My apologies.

If you wanted a fresh start, you've fucked up your first impression real good. If you don't like the ATMB threads over there, don't read them. Don't like what we do here, there's the door.

Here's a freebie for ya...the guys over at Giraffe's place don't like you either. Start a bullshit pit thread over there, and they'll show you.

I didn't say a fresh start for me, I said for the board members. The whole. I can read whatever I like. I can post where I want. Just like you.

"If you don't like it, there's the door " - You sound a lot like Ed Zotti.

Here's a freebie for ya... the guys over at Giraffe's place don't like you either. Most people won't say so. Think they don't? Please. But from what I remember, one of you charmers here thought that the people that went to Giraffe's boards were the dim bulbs that hung out in MPSIMS. A group of not-so-bright posters that you all didn't really want here anyway. Start a bullshit pit thread over there, and they'll show you.

Seriously, though, SFP, give it a rest. Sure, somebody over here said something stupid. Somebody over at Giraffe board said something stupid. Somebody at SDMB said something stupid. It's ok. Really.

Stick around and play a while, you'll feel better.

This happens on the internet once in awhile.

I'll give you a non-smartass answer, StinkFishPot - some of us had a lot invested in the Dope emotionally, and it is going to take us awhile to separate and cool off. I personally felt a huge wave of relief and freedom when I started posting here, and I'm still angry at some of the shit that has gone down. There are some drama queens, sure, and some chronic troublemakers, too, but there are also a lot of people like me, who didn't want this to happen and wish that management at the Dope hadn't pushed us this far. I'm no longer interested in changing the Straight Dope - I'm not banging my head on that brick wall any longer.

Naw, banning's too easy--much more fun to bat them around... Besides, quite often they get tired and start relaxing and having fun, so--win!

Wait just a fucking minute. We allow goddamn pictures in the pit? For fuck's sake, this might be a deal-breaker.

Perhaps there's some nuance I'm missing here. Because if not, then you're posting the exact same whiny shit on two different message boards, because you're pissy that some people are posting on both message boards. Or not posting on both message boards. Or something.

Have you considered going outside, dear? A little air might do you good.

What the hell are you thinking, Stinky?! You can't post without being a whiny bitch, and now you're spreading your feces over at the Dope? Pull your underwear out of your ass. Go watch a baby sleep or spend an afternoon at the park or something.

Christ on a bun, it's too early for this shit.
