Thanks for the info, general_urko! Yesterday I was certainly at a loss as to why the Charlie's Angels films were part of BBC-A's programming. It kinda boggles the mind to think American viewers tuning in to something branded as "BBC" would be pleased by that sorta thing.

Have a fun time, if that's not too irreverent, at the battlegrounds, EH!

No, thanks, it's not too irreverent. There is plenty of serious stuff to learn, but we also have fun and enjoy each other's company.

Well, technically she was talking about the mini-team; she didn't feel the need to reveal the rest of the crew's existence. So, everything was the truth, just... not quite the whole truth.

But yeah, Rangin did indeed irk her. And judging from his reaction, he doesn't even know what he said that pissed her off! Just imagine if he could see her fawning act over Graham right now.

Thanks, general_urko--though it might've been better if I hadn't completely misread Okmyx's response regarding the timeline of the meeting vs. the kidnapping! I swear I thought he'd said that the meeting was only an hour or so before he'd heard about the kidnapping. Embarrassing for Kylah to have to suffer because her player's a numpty.

And as always I'm enjoying Graham's thought processes. Kylah really needs to shut up and let him get a word in edgewise. Though I'm inclined to agree with Graham, I'm not convinced Okmyx knows anything useful, or he is a master dissembler.

(Actually I was looking back at the early parts of this mission--back in June, good lord, I think only 2 hours have passed in four months!--and came across the scene where Rangin picks who should go on the mission. Nia was there! I almost forgot about her, not to mention her message to Graham that he never got a chance to read. And I forgot how relentlessly bitchy she was toward Kylah, too... at least, mentally. I look forward to seeing her again!)

When times are dark CIAS draw comfort from the fact that your nation is not actively debating an orange haired maniac for head of state.

Woohoo! Kylah's CHA of 12 finally pays off! Either that or she's rolled a natural 20 on Diplomacy. As far as Cledd's looks go, the earliest pic I could find of a younger Anthony Caruso version of Bela Okmyx is here:

Is this about right for the guy? If so, he's pretty good-looking... not surprised he's popular with the ladies!

More seriously, I hope everyone's doing okay with their various real-life challenges.

Good find! Cledd, in my mind's eye, is younger, thinner and more hard-edged, but that's not too far off.

Cool! I was hoping to find something from his brief appearance in Watch on the Rhine, when Caruso would've been in his late twenties/early thirties, but could nab this one from what's probably about a dozen years later. Dang that guy had one helluva long resume! Alas thanks to typecasting it was mostly playing gangsters and the occasional "Chief Blackarrow" in umpteen TV westerns.

    I hope so too, CIAS.

In the meantime, watching Rangin/Collins deal with their side of things is like listening to someone attempt to figure out the famous logic puzzle involving a farmer who has a fox, hen and bag of grain he needs to get across a river, but only has a boat big enough for two. Closer... closer...

    Hey! I resemble that remark!

truth is, I've not been able to concentrate due to worrying about things. So I only skimmed all the goings on in Okmyx's office.

I hope things went well last week, anyrose, and that you'll have the answer soon. Totally understandable that your mind's on other stuff.

We have plenty of options, if we need them."

Rangin can feel himself begin to bounce up and down slightly on the balls of his feet as his mind begins to put together more ideas before settling on perhaps the simplest option of all. "If we know which five are the CAG because they are not carrying any weapons, why don't we just transport them up to the Yorktown. Our job then becomes apprehending the kidnappers before they leave."

    "What do you think?"
I'm thinking HALLELUJAH SAINTS BE PRAISED!

And for the record, it's: the farmer rows over the hen first, leaving fox/grain on the shore; he then comes back for the grain, leaving the fox on the original shore. Depositing the grain, he rides back with the hen. Then he takes the fox over to the shore, where it'll wait with the grain. Rowing back alone, he comes back for the hen. Voila! Of course what I've never understood is why a farmer owns a fox in the first place.

Thanks. The hearing was painless, and the lawyer said it went our way, as much as these things can. If you didn't read my comments on facebook or the Dope, even their employability expert agreed I cannot work. Now I just have the interminable wait for the judge to hand down her decision and my payments to start

I forget you folks aren't necessarily my Facebook friends.
I got a fully favorable judgement in Monday's mail.
On my way out of voting on Tuesday, my power wheelchair jumped a curb and I fell out onto my right side. I have a fracture in my femur at the base of my artificial hip. I don't need surgery, but I'm in a hospital and will be for the foreseeable future. I haven't been keeping up with the storyline, because the pain meds make it tough to concentrate. How about Collins gets knocked out or injured and has to be beamed back to the ship for the rest of the mission

Oh shit that's awful, I'm so sorry! I've been doing very very little FBing since Tuesday for my own sanity, so I didn't see! Jesus, out of the frying pan into the fire. I'm glad about the positive decision being fast but what a terrible thing to happen right afterward. Please please take care of yourself and I hope you get well and the meds at least work keeping you at a minimum of pain.

anyrose looks like she'll be out of the game for awhile yet, alas, and has suggested Collins's return to the ship for the time being. choie offered, and I have approved, bringing Onn into the story - hence the latest developments in the game thread.

I hope things get better for you and the 2016 curse will be lifted sooner than expected.

(Ironically, Nia was primarily tossed in there so Rangin would have a fellow PC to play with while Collins was out. This side of the party feels like a horror story where one by one, the leads are turned into phantasms!)

You and anyrose are sorely missed. Although EH, you're doing a great job juggling even more NPCs than usual. Thank you!

"Agreed," Collins says. Onn reminds herself that Collins actually outranks Rawlings.
Indeed, Nia bonks herself in the head for having completely forgotten that not only does Collins outrank Rawlings, but the young Assistant Chief of Security has such a unique physiology that she can simultaneously exist in both the Yorktown sickbay as well the apartment building!

That bit might need to be tweaked, heh.
