I hope we can keep this going. I've been busy, but I can check in a little more. I wonder if there isn't just a general lull; most of the games in this forum seem to have slowed down.

Perhaps we should take a summer hiatus of a few weeks... or months? Not too long, obviously, I hope.

It would be good to finish up the cults, maybe end the chapter, before taking a break.

I want to keep playing, after all this time it would be a shame to just stop. I am ok with a slower pace if need be too.

I've been awfully busy lately, but I'd hate to see the game end. If we need to go much, much slower, I could live with that. I just worry about pausing it entirely, in case it never gets restarted.
So now they are just dirt-covered English people in fur pelts with credit cards.

I usually read the thread every day, but don't always post if there's nothing for Ithilneth to contribute. I'd definitely like the game to continue.

I usually check the thread at least once a day, but I've been slacking the past few days. I've definitely been enjoying the game, and I'm willing to work harder on posting regularly.

Looks like we're fine to keep going. Look for my updates mostly in the Evenings East Coast time.

There goes Thoroncir, sucking up to his future father-in-law. Again.

I know Tolkien's werewolves weren't the same as Hollywood's typical specimens, or J.K. Rowling's. Is Thoroncir now at any risk for becoming a werewolf himself?

AFAIK werewolves were created by Morgoth/Sauron in various ways and don't create other werewolves through bite, otherwise Beren and Luthien could have turned out completely differently.

Chances are though Thoroncir is going to be badly poisoned/diseased though and need the close and personal ministrations of a high level cleric to survive and recover. Wonder where we can find of them then?

Does Mithril work on werewolves in Middle Earth the way silver would work in common folklore? I have some Mithril bolts I can use if it does.

Mithril is generally a very good way to make holes in things no matter what, but I do not recall from Tolkien's writings that silver was of especial effect.

Think of a Middle Earth Werewolf as more of a hugely strong warg with a touch of the demonic. Magic to hit but no silver requirement. Huan the hound did well against them and thus Drindoleth probably has the right if painful idea. They are not infectious with lycanthrope but their mouth would contain a vicious brew of germs and bacteria. Think Komodo Dragon.

Keeping chopping, Gil-Gandel should give direction and encouragement, I'm afraid Gilraen is not longer as capable of that for the moment.

I'm departing tomorrow morning for the Origins gaming convention in Columbus, OH. Five days of playing D&D -- woot! As a result, I'll be offline after tonight, until Sunday night, possibly Monday.

I'm three hours up the road. PM me if you'll be coming through or near NE Ohio.

I know Drindoleth can cast some as the Bear. What are the limitations on that? Can he do Warp Wood still?

I'll be at Origins as well. Liz and I take off tomorrow morning. Won't be hitting NE Ohio, though, EH. Coming from Chicago.

ETA: I may still post here, but it depends on where I can get internet access for free (or at least no more than a cup of tea or so.)

I lived in Columbus for half a decade, but never did get around to going to Origins. Always too busy, since I was in grad school.

My job tasking is going to be non-internet again. I'll try to check in, but it won't be very frequent, maybe.

I was at GenCon in Lake Geneva in 1985. Other then that I really haven't done any others. It was fun but not my thing in the end.

Two new Elf-women cast in The Hobbit movies, apparently - see the main article here, and the top news item to the right: http://www.wordandfilm.com/2011/06/e...in-the-hobbit/

Lilly is very Elvish looking. A good choice even if I dislike the idea of adding non-Tolkien characters to the movies.

Yup, and that's now two Elf-maids it's been found necessary to drag in. Wonder how much of the Prof's story will have to get spiked to accommodate Jackson's ego this time?

Watch out for extra forest elf scenes with a cameo appearance by Legolas.

Oddly I just won some Lego compatible Lord of the Rings Lego sets. Though far from that impressive of course. I really like the Orthanc from the pictures.

First thing I thought of as well.

Hmm...does Mulligan count as a Tolnedran or a Drasnian?

Size indicates a Tolnedran lass. Skill set suggests Drasnian.

I currently reading another Eddings series called the Dreamers. I guess think about Eddings inspired me a bit. Good catch.
