I generally only read threads that others supply to me, then rant about how [insult varies] the posters are.

I am terribly bored, so I think I shall cheat and post randomly from my new favorite toy.

Can you load some Hieronymous Bosch onto your toy to see how far the resolution of the color image will take you?

I don't think so, but I'm also not sure how I'd try something like that.

I know, right? Also, when there are cars coming, one should avoid trying to cross two lanes of oncoming traffic like the old dude who seemed to think I had time to do something other than slam on my breaks so he could do just that.

Generally, we don't get Walmart busy, but we're far busier than on the average Friday. This year, they've already let slip that we're going to have some Black Friday specials, so we're likely to be swamped early. Fortunately, I'm neither opening nor closing. Unfortunately, I have to find parking in the early afternoon.

I was thinking I might just make nice with the Panda, but a jetpack might be easier than snagging a ride.

If you're going to just use banned tech, why not go for a teleportation booth hidden in the staff room?

Oh, Loki! If I had access to the teleportation device, I'd have already gotten Zuul back down here at least once.

So over than the teleportation device, what is your favourite sci-fi device.

I have a weakness for knives as a general thing. They can be stubby light sabers, Wolverine style claws, enchanted knives and swords, or plain old blades in the hands of someone with special powers.

I take it this helps when daydreaming about your more annoying customers?

Actually, funny you should mention daydreaming about customers. I actually have a recurring one when I work at the register that involves hopping catlike onto the counter and biting the customer's face off. Often, because my mouth isn't that big, I end up unhinging my fantasy jaws to do it. Then, I sit contentedly on the counter and chew the face bits as they scream.

Part of it was to see who would respond. I was eyeing the "Who's On?" and was all "Well, Loki's about. He might post. Maybe, one or two of the others. But, not that one dude."

Faster page turns, adds the "shelves" feature, which is really cool. You can organize your library any way you want, pretty much (by genre, amount of sex, number of swear words, shelves to keep vampires and werewolves separated....). And, there's also a way to set your bookmark to update at the B&N site, so you can move seamlessly from your Nook to another device with a Nook app. And, I think you can password protect the store, but I haven't been shopping since it came down.

So, should I be amused that I went in to pick my puppy up from "doggy lock up," and the chick at the counter's eyes lit up and she started gushing about how sweet my dog is?

Sparky can charm anyone. Right up until they realize she's Simple Dog from Hyperbole and a Half.

She really is. She's the sweetest dog in the world, and it really was love at first sight when I found her at PetSmart, but she's just not very bright most of the time.
