I think watching those horse races would make me pretty uncomfortable, actually. I guess it'd be better than competing in them, though.

You know, I'm not sure why I love these books, but I do.

Would you prefer to be asked less "personal" questions in your post-padding thread?

Is it particularly strenuous posting from a nook?

It's different! There's a lot of scrolling involved, and there's a lag between typing a letter and seeing it appear on the reader screen. It does seem that the B&N tech heads have been playing with the web browser, though. It's working a lot faster and more smoothly.

Do you recommend the Nook over other e-readers? I was thinking of getting one someday, but I want it to be able to read .pdf files from your computer and have other fun functionality. Of course, my phone is like a tablet so I can read stuff on there, but the acrobat reader won't read some .pdf's my desktop will.

Well, the Nook doesn't have a zoom feature for PDFs yet (though they'll probably shoot that to us as soon as they figure out how to interface it with the e-ink), but it will generally read PDFs and ePub format books. B&N has a pretty substantial eBook library, and the prices are reasonable. I could go on. This is totally what I get paid to talk about.

Would you rather be left alone with a randomly selected Catholic Priest or a random teacher? (Don't worry, we've taken the random fashion photographer off the menu. Some things are just too cruel.)

I've actually met some pretty cool priests, including this Irish guy my dad knows who used to let me sit in his living room and listen to his collection of Broadway soundtracks while he and my dad hung out, so I totally wouldn't mind a priest.

That sounds totally amazing, but I have to clean and don't have time for epicness! Got the word for anything shorter?

Strange guy at work (not the one I mentioned in the Retail thread) keeps making random comments at me. Before, he told me how awesome I was (Thanks, I guess?) and today, he told me I was much nicer than the "girl at the desk." Now, there were two women at the info desk, and they're both perfectly nice people. I'm just really confused by this.

Peeta. I think, at the end of the day, he and Katniss balance eachother in a way that Gale and Katniss would never be able to manage.

Okay. So, I told the woman who runs the digital department that I thought it might be off putting to some people to break down her Nook events by gender (She's got a "Download Diva" night and a "Load Your E-Locker" night scheduled). She asked what I'd do, and I suggested genres. Mystery, Thriller, Romance, and SciFi/Fantasy. Well, because she knows nothing about Fantasy or SciFi, she asked me if I just wanted to run it.

    Uh...yes!

So, in early November, I will be running "Nook into the Future (Or, the Past, or What Might be the Present)."

My step-mom takes the flip tabs off soda cans to the Ronald McDonald House, and I was over at her house for dinner. Was pulling the tab, got part of the can, and sliced my finger right along the knuckle. Didn't hurt too badly (I don't always feel cuts or needle pokes), but the bleeding was...worrisome.
