Did you know that if you post something that would make the thread skip to a new page via the quick reply it doesn't actually jump forward until you leave that page and go back to you thus leading to personal confusion?

I've never noticed that! I'm a little oblivious sometimes, though.

Am I a little fish cleaning spare meat from your shark's jaws or the tiny bird eating insects from your back?

But but but... they're the state something of Mississippi. (We used to call our sister ship, Mississippi, Mudpuppy. When we weren't calling her Brand X.)

Did you ever see the Kidd during any of your trips to Nawlens?

Is this a ship thing, Loki? I don't understand the whole nautical thing which is either true BECAUSE I live so close to a bazillion historical nautical things or ironic because of it. (I went ot battleship cove every year for like, ten years. I never want to be in a submarine longer than 10 minutes).

    Yes, it's a ship thing.

If I get incomprehensible in the future, you'll probably be just as happy if you write it off to me going off on ship things, again. I do it far too often, really.

Oy! I know! My mom used to drag us to some historical battleship every summer, and the submarine was my least favorite part of the whole thing!

Unless you're a warship groupie, I really don't see the point. Heck, when I was in Nawlens for my one visit, I skipped right past her. I was looking to see the cast iron corn. Much more interesting.

Was this in Massachusetts? (I'm trying to think of naval history parks that had both a battleship and a sub, at the appropriate time frame, and Battleship Cove is all that comes to mind.)

As for submarine tours: The really frightening thing for me (a borderline claustrophobe) is knowing that every submariner from WWII will tell you that US subs from that day and age were luxury craft compared to British, German, or Japanese craft.

Besides, Fletcher-class tin cans are a dime a dozen.

Can you understand the humor in seeing the Greek Navy and Turkish Navy each sending one of their Fletcher class destroyers to a NATO exercise?

Does it have to do with the military might of their ancient times counterparts? Their coast lines?

More because of the fact that they're still intense rivals. It may be an exaggeration to claim that they hate each other with the heat of a thousand suns. Maybe. And here they are, both showing up in the same class of ship. As well as having to play nice together.

At the time that I'd been part of that NATO exercise, the differences between the two nations because of the issue of Cyprus had nearly lead to a shooting incident.

They were the most watched ships in the group, for some reason.

Spiders, and I'm terrified of being alone. One of the only two times I did a drug harder than pot, I was absolutely sure that there was a giant spider crawling around my room, and that it was going to get me.

Anything of interest is usually measures on a scale from "a'ight" to "insane," though insanity has levels beyond that ("kinda insane," or "fucking insane," to name a couple).
