Default What kind of bread do you prefer?

I buy different types of bread or bread rolls from time to time, but all in all I have clear preferences. Most of the time I will buy something that is not too far from this one. In fact I bought exactly that today.

It's a rye-heavy sourdough with a nice firm and crunchy crust.

    What is your preferred type?

    I love a good rye.

    A well made Challah bread.

A good crusty NYC style Italian Bread.

So what is Sliced Pan like? Better than the American or English White bread I hope?

Sliced pan is like wonderbread, except without as much of the chemicals, way fresher, nicer tasting. Batch loaf is similar but coarser, bigger slices, thicker crust.

God, I like all kinds. Crusty French or Italian, chewy sourdough, a nice nutty whole grain, a rich Challah. I could practically live on bread.

    Brioche. It's like super bread.

Oh, jali, yes. I second the Hawaiian Sweet Rolls.

I'm a fan of a lot of breads, but the fresher it's made the better. My grandmother used to make homemade sourdough and I've recently been considering taking it up myself.

I am a lover of all bread.

Particularly piping-hot baguettes and those nice rye bread rolls with the salty tops ... mmmm. Bread.

It's like french bread with extra butter and eggs. Very rich.

I think my favorite bread is a nice fresh sourdough loaf, just cool enough to eat.

Do you make it yourself, by any chance?

I have never made it on my own. My grandmother made it when I was a child, though, and I have very fond memories of it. Sadly, I think my house is too cold here for creating a starter.

Get a used cooler at a thrift shop, and a small incandescent light (20-40 watts), and voila you've got a proofing box.

My taste in bread runs the gamut, but since I take a sandwich to work every night, I almost always use a seven grain bread from any of the regular bread makers. If I go for different, I'll get pumpernickel.
