Was Jackson's hair on fire video ever released before today?

CNN states that US Magazine has released a (no sound) video of Jackson's 1984 accident.

I recall, though seeing the same clip from the front. Googling around only found me copies of a clip from some movie or documentary or something that reenacts the event, though its most definitely not the video I recall seeing years ago (far more clean quality and closer/better angles than I remember). Am I crazy or does anyone else remember this?

I (vaguely) remember the incident from when it happened. No, the video has never been released before, at least not officially. Whether you are remembering the re-enactment or whether this tape has been somehow leaked before, I do not know.

No, it was definitely a front view, and I recall it zooming in.. It was a very short clip and was slomoed.

Maybe some Entertainment Tonight or something like that had used the film reenactment and did a slomo/zoom to make it look different.. This was the mid-90s probably.

Not that back view. I remember seeing a front view, from a longer distance.

I remember seeing still pictures shot from the front back then. They seemed to be taken from far away and rather blurry. I don't remember ever seeing any video of it back then.

A point that may be worth remembering here; this happened in 1984, before the days of, "run to the internet and Youtube it." If you didn't catch it on the news, you didn't see it at all.

ISTR seeing a shaky shot of it on Entertainment Tonight, or perhaps the news. The shot was from a distance, and you could see the set and the cameras and everything (IOW, it was probably shot by someone on the set using a handheld video camera, not one of the cameras actually filming the video or commercial or whatever it was).
