Can you check to see whether posting to a thread means you are automatically subscribed to the thread.

Posting to a thread automatically subscribes the poster to the thread. The default needs to change to "Do Not Subscribe"

I'm looking at this one, So far i can't find the default. {Jim}

Hiding in User Registration Options which means that this is default for all imported users. No way to fix except SQL. I changed it for new users.

I'm a little confused about chat...I thought we were moving it off the front page or to a separate domain? Don't we need to do that because of the filters?

The Default settings for PMs are different as well.

CIAS, I am checking on your PMs for both.

Changes are made, vB is a huge improvement over phpBB for those alone.

It's set up so you have to click the quick reply button in order to use the box. I remember when the SDMB had the upgrade and QR went to the "click button to reply" people threw fits.

I have set the buttons to be the default style, but we might want some nice little grren buttons at some point from CIAS

I was just logged out after about 20 minutes of inactivity.

When I try reporting a post I can enter a report, but don't get a notification of it or anything to indicate a post has been reported. There doesn't appear to be anything about reports in my CP either.

Edit: I don't know how I did that earlier, then. Weird.

I am now playing with the Help User Infractions & Post Reporting Options
Post reports are Emails only, which is not good news.

Every report should now autocreate a thread in the Mod Forum and multi-reports on the same post go to the same create thread. . :cool:

Also, not really a bug but. I keep getting emails about reported posts, but I can't find anything on the forum that shows me the same.

We also want to have the PM setting set to save copies of sent PMs in your sent folder turned on by default. GB has it the other way and it sucks the first time you go to check something you sent and realize that you don't have a copy.
Nothing built in to do this, needs an SQL script made. Can put in the intro letter though.

I'd consider that a major problem, personally. I'm rarely checking my email as often as I'm checking new posts on the board. If there isn't something on here to indicate where posts have been reported I might miss something for hours.

There is a 2 minutes grace period on edits. That is all. There is also Edit review enabled.

I consider it a major problem, as well. I'm usually pretty good about checking my email, but there are other times when I can't for whatever reason, even though I'm still looking at the board.

Also, being logged out for inactivity could get very annoying very fast (it happened to me too).

DONE Fixed to 3600 seconds from 1200. Next time you reload the new cookie should take if you still have problems. Delete the cookie and sign back in, but signing out should delete the cookie for you.

Not a bug, but a request. I really dig the heck out of Giraffe Boards' thread of the moment box. But I don't like the way they use it much (it's almost never updated). I think we could put one in and do better things with it then they do. Turn it into our own version of threadspotting and update it with a new top 2 or 3 threads every Friday.

Suggestions include choosing to show Show Avatars, Images or Signatures and checking PM settings as Save to Sent is defaulted off. You can also upload an avatar after 5 posts.

7 says that it isn't working right yet, but he will give us a copy of the code once he is done fixing it.

I explained that poorly.

In the imported posts, there may be some codes used that worked on Domebo but are not set up here yet.

Just noticed we are missing the old confused, but that is a minor fix and not needed for go live.

Elmwood, is it safe to keep Tic Tac Toe or should we bury it or just remove it. I would hate for something unimportant to screw up the filters.

If you're going to take a chance with the filters, make it a big distraction like one of the various arcade mods. The advantage of those - like chat, you can select what usergroup sees them and what doesn't.

I see the titles are different...some say "member" and some say "junior member." Can someone tell me the difference...I'm assuming it's a post count thing? And I hate to sound like a doper, but are we all losing our Charter Member status? :tongue:

Those member titles will need to be cleaned up. I think we'll allow custom titles and people to config their own when over a certain number of posts. That stuff can happen over the weekend or next week.

Default is off, check your Control Panel options.

ETA: I can SEE the chatbox, it's just not loading. Don't think I made that clear before.

ETA (again): pep and I figured out that you have to actually type something into chat to get it to load, just refreshing the page doesn't do it. CIAS also said that you can hit the refresh chat button. Just checking that this is the way it's supposed to work.

Viewing avatars seems to be disabled by default. It's on the CP, 'Edit Options' => 'Thread Display Options'.

That's not what she means. On Domebo, if you were typing out a response, and you hit "submit reply" and somebody replied to the thread after you began your response but before you attempted to post it, then you could see it. This cut down on simul-posts, and also gave you the chance to address the newest post before submitting. I really like that option, and I'd like to see it here, too, if possible.
