Default Music Trivia - Game Thread

    Quick recap of the rules:

Each player will have one question assigned to them per round. Answer your assigned question in the thread, and PM me the answers for all non-assigned questions. Correct answers for assigned questions are worth 10pts, and non-assigned are worth 3pts. There will be one bonus name that tune included in every round. Please guess the song in PM, and a correct guess will be worth 10pts. The questions were assigned at random, with the exception that I tried to make the rounds progressively harder (YMMV). You will have until 12pm EST tomorrow to answer this round's questions. Good luck!

    Round 1:

1.1 - What Exit?: What 1984 movie shares a name with Limahl's only hit song?

1.2 - OneCentStamp: What Rick James protégé had several hits in the early 80's, including "Square Biz" and "Lovergirl"?

1.3 - Orual: Name the seven hit singles from Thriller

1.4 - artifex: When putting off Brandy, what does the singer from Looking Glass say is his life, lover, and lady?

1.5 - Cluricaun: Name the R&B singer whose plane crashed in the Bahamas on August 25th, 2001.

1.6 - The Original An Gadaí: What band is this?

1.7 - parzival: What song did Madonna sing in her breakout performance at the 1984 MTV video music awards?

1.8 - Sarahfeena: Survivor had a hit in 1985 that appeared on the Rocky IV soundtrack. What is the song?

1.9 - spitz: Manfred Mann's Earth Band had a huge hit in 1977 with "Blinded By the Light". Which singer-songwriter recorded it five years earlier?

1.10 - fachverwirrt: Who was the original lead singer for The Commodores?

1.11 - Exy: Who in 1969 sang "My Cherie Amour"?

1.12 - Myrnalene: Who had a hit in 1973 with "Radar Love"?

    Bonus: Name That Tune

(the sound clips are all .wav files. They should work for everyone, but if anybody can't get the file to work, please let me know and I will figure something else out.)

I have never heard of Limahl. So I will take a wag at "Dreamscape" as I saw it lastnight.

Eye of the Tiger? (I'm afraid this one isn't right, cause 1985 sounds too late for it, but it's the only Survivor song I can think of associated with a Rocky movie.)

1.10 - Who was the original lead singer for The Commodores?

I was trying to think of a funny answer, but I couldn't think of one. So I'll go with a funny name: Englebert Humperdink (the composer, not the singer).

2.5 - I haven't the faintest notion about JJ after 1987 or so. I'll say Big Six by Judge Dred, which I know is wrong, but that song cracks me up.
