Default In case of Societal collaspe/rapture what do you expect to do?

I always expected to be either Nuked fast or hunted down and eaten so might as well stick to the plan. Of course I never thought of rapture, I was thinking collapse of society/WWIII.

This was something I really use to think about a lot growing up in the Cold War, near NYC and a Navy Ammo Dump. That and I always like Sci-Fi and post collapse Sci-Fi was popular.

If the world got to that point, I plan to take my loved ones and move to a remote location with them. It would be a place with available natural resources, just like living back when the settlers arrived.

Now, nuclear winter kind of rules that plan out based on the widespread contamination and all, so in that case I would dig a really big hole and live in it, or alternatively find a derelict missile silo to occupy.

In any case, I'll probably stick with whoever of my friends and family has the most guns and ammo.

Try to survive as long as possible. Although, as I understand it, any situation where there aren't enough people left to keep up food production/distribution will lead to most of us starving. So I imagine I wouldn't make it too long.

I guess my answer's the same as Loki's.

If I don't die from nuclear fallout, then I guess I'll suffer a sudden conversion to Mormonism and start living off of my sister's food reserves and sharing in the ammo.

I would help rebuild some semblance of civilisation if I could. Although without any practical skills I reckon I would just keep more resourceful survivors fed til the Nuclear Winter ended.

As I think I've mentioned before, my primary plan is to get facial tattoos and start a motorcycle gang.

Die. Since I live on the edge of the bush in a region of low population density, and have good wilderness survival skills, I expect that I would outlast most folks, but sooner or later mishap or conflict would finish me off.

Start one? Oh don't worry: Mello already has one. I don't recall what name we settled on, but we've got all the details planned out. Step one is to get ourselves a pool table.

(I don't know why that's step one, but it is.)

Hey, I got the pool table. If this is a post apocalypse biker gang, maybe I could find a 4 wheeler or something and come along as geeky tech support/mechanic helper.

Excellent, we'll need mechanical assistance. We'll also have a still, since I imagine the second thing to run out after gasoline will be booze. We'll be drunken post-apocalyptic bikers and will run our bikes on ethanol.

I suspect we have many capable of setting on up and with training I honestly think I can operate any piece of machinery/contraption. But to be safe, make sure someone picks up Silenus. I am pretty sure he could build the still and brew us several types of beer.

Societal collapse- I'll gear up on guns, ammo and fishing tackle and head for the deep swamps.

Rapture- Go on as usual. The 5 or 10 people who are in a state of grace wont be missed.

    Welcome to Mellophant.

We started with nothing and we still have most of it left.

I know how to operate a CANDU reactor, but they're a bitch to lug around.

Well that is one piece of equipment that would be tougher for me to learn IRC. But as I already learned steam cycle, electrical disto, logic circuits, cooling and heating, programming and electronics, I would guess the pair of you could make me a third watch stander and useful tech fairly fast.
