I'm certified. Ask away. I tried a thread like this on SDMB a few years ago and it worked okay. Ask away. *hic*. I might delegate some questions to Cluricaun.

Why do you never see 4 Irishmen together?
Ask me whatever you like, just buy the next round!
My favourite drink would probably be a nice glass of Maker's Mark but I rarely purchase it as it is expensive here in Ireland. My tipple of choice nowadays would be a Power's and cola.
What song are you most likely to sing while drunk?
Is there a difference between whiskey and whisky?
What are the most commonly drunk Irish whiskeys in Ireland? What you see here in the USA is typically Jameson (always Jameson, actually), usually Tullamore Dew, and usually some Bushmills up on the top shelf. Anything other than those, even in an "Irish bar," is a rare sight.

Jameson is probably the big one but there are several other main whiskeys including the ones you named that are available almost every pub. Irish whiskeys aren't as diverse as Scottish ones, with there being only something like three distilleries left on the island. Jameson, Tullamore Dew, Power's, Paddy, Bushmill's, and some of the lesser known brands such as Dunphy's can be seen in a lot of pubs. American Whiskeys like Jack Daniel's and Jim Beam are also popular in bars here.
In off licences you can buy a number of Irish whiskeys that I've never noticed in bars including such tipples as Feckin' Irish Whiskey, Slane Castle Whiskey and several others.
Are you still drunk?
Oh, and your fave cure for hangovers?

To sleep, perchance to experience amygdalocortical activation and prefrontal deactivation.
This particular person of Irish extraction prefers to get drunk via beer rather than whiskey. What beers do you favour?
Hell is other people.
How popular is Guinness in Ireland? It is a popular somewhat beer snobbish drink here but I find it tastes ashy.
German ones. I'm not too big into beer drinking. I'll drink the odd bottle of Bud. Erdinger Weissbier is nice, some Czech beers are pretty good too, but nothing I've tasted here came close to beers I've had in Germany. It's not a beer but my main tipple other than the strong stuff is Bulmer's Cider but you can't drink too much of that rotgut.
It is very popular here but I think it is a drink a lot of people grow into. Younger menfolk seem to prefer American or European lagers, Bud, Heineken, Coors, Carlsberg, are all very popular, and I suspect they eclipse Guinness amongst a younger age cohort.
I'm not a huge fan of Guinness but the whole thing about certain pubs serving good Guinness seems to be true enough. The Gravediggers pub near Glasnevin Cemetery has a legendary pint and I've tried it and sure enough it tastes way better than Guinness usually does.
How do you feel about guys from Southie (ie, Boston) named "Sully" that are super proud of their "Irish Heritage" and go all out drinking green beer on St. Patrick's Day, but don't actually know anything about Ireland and don't really care?
Are there any sober Irishmen and if so, are there support groups for them?
Do you ever have random fits of sobriety?
