    Default So, this weekend

Saturday, I'm going to a "pre-Christmas" party held by my wife's mother's side of the family. These people usually have bad parties, but I live in hope.

Sunday, I think my kid wants to see the Santa Claus parade, despite his new lack of Santa belief. By great good luck, my office affords a good, warm view of the parade, so this is a great tradition for us.

Anybody have anything more interesting going on? (If that's even possible?)

I am very excited. Going to photograph the Bensenville "Dead Zone".

This is a section of Bensenville, IL that was appropriated for the O'Hare Airport expansion that is now abandoned.

It's creepy cool, post-apocolyptic. I take pictures of old signs (neon, backlit, stuff like that) and this place is a goldmine of closed-down non-franchise businesses.

I want to get the whole area, though, not just the signs. Thinking of doing some B&W film.

Weather's looking good for my little project.

Tonight is out for drinks with a special group of friends who only get together in entirety every great once in a while. Tomorrow has no plans except that there’s a UFC fight that I’d like to catch, so that means more bar time since it’s cheaper to go to the bar and watch than it is to order at home. Sunday, who knows? No football for me since the Bears played last night, so probably some grown up type puttering around the house.

UFC 105 is free on Spike in the U.S. because it's taking place in England.

I am hopefully going to make some serious headway on potty training Happy Babby. Exciting, I know!

Wish you luck. Our guy was a nightmare to train. I think that on a fundamental level, he knew that he had it pretty soft as a baby and was in no rush to move on.

Thanks, Rube. My daughter was horrible to train, too. She's just stubborn...if you want her to do something, she won't want to do it, on principle. She didn't get trained until she went to preschool and she didn't have a choice. My son's much more easy going and eager to please, so I'm crossing my fingers that it will go more easily this time!

My plans are not exciting. My sister asked me to come over to take down and then hang a replacement cabinet in her bathroom.

I have to fix the power window on my car (passenger side rear). No clue how that will work out.

I would like to get some yard work in Sunday.

Somehow I want to fit in going to see "The men that stare at goats."

I have papers to grade. That's about it.

Woot! This I didn't know. Now I can get by for the price of a case of beer and some munchies. Paaaaaaaaaaaaartaaaaaaaaaaay!

    *Confused*

Wasn't Happy Baby your pet name for Mr. Sarahfeena?

Work. Bought skis and boots today, so I have to spend a day at the office this weekend to shake the money tree. Not particularly exciting or entertaining, but since it will be raining anyway, I won't be missing much.
