Default Song Of The Day Thread: October 2009

    1st October 2009.

    The Savage Rose,

With apologies for the sound quality.

This is from "Dødens Triumf", a ballet originally by Eugène Ionesco, the music written by Anders & Thomas Koppel of The Savage Rose.

It is unfortunate that Dødens Triumf is not available in its original format and complete on YouTube. An amazing piece of music.

I woke up this morning with a song by Tilt, a minor pop punk band that my wife loves, stuck in my head.

I am not sure why it's there, I haven't heard it in ages, but its a good song, so I thought I would submit it for the song of the Day.

Recommended by a colleague, he's a bit BNP/racist but loves Saga, although he doesn't understand Swedish - this is one of the English translations.

Those are some great picks, NAF. As far as I'm concerned Summertime Clothes was the summer song of 2009.

I've been neglecting this thread for way too long. I generally only post when I actually have a song that I'm having a love affair with, I'm never forcing it or anything, so in honor of what is currently my new favorite song I'm taking Monday like a bitch. I don't agree with the politics of this whole thing but that never stopped me from enjoying Crass and other bands with fun and naive but well intended ideas. I'm actually kind of glad to see in this day and age someone who gives any kind of shit about the concept of libertarian socialism in the first place while really understanding the concept at the same time. This song makes me want to throw rocks at the mailman. Incredibly political but still catchy and cool:

"Regrets", from the Mylenium Tour. Watching it on the HD/Plasma right now.
I'm not one for clothes and jewelery and would be the first to admit that some of Mylène's clothes are pretty dreadful but I do like the necklace she is wearing.
My sister in law sells some jewellry in one of her shops and after I had seen this I mentioned it and described it to her. She pointed to a display behind me where one was on a mannequin. My daughter has it now
