Default KFC is trying to kill us all with a new sandwich.

I've had Baconaters, I've had BK Quad Stackers, Hell, I've even had BK's Enormous Omelet sandwich before. I know all about disgustingly unhealthy fast food. Well, at least I did.

KFC has been rebranding themselves like crazy as of late, what with their grilled chicken and what have you......but nature abhorred that vacuum, so they came up with the Double Down.....

A BACON AND CHEESE SANDWICH THAT USES FRIED CHICKEN IN PLACE OF A BUN.

Think it's a joke? Maybe just a Photoshop? No. This is real. This is available in Omaha as a test item right now. And for some reason it costs $7. And God help me........I want one.

    First it looks disgusting.
    Second it looks messy.
Third looking at it is clotting my arteries.

I would never eat it, I expect it to do well.

I thought you was talking about Kentucky Fried Cat?

Curse my lack of Photoshop - this post could have been far funnier!

Oh man. I either need to take a trip to Omaha, or hope that the testing goes well so I can have it here!!!

I have been known to occasionally crave some KFC.

    Not like that, though.

SEVEN BUCKS!?!? That's where the rails buckle, right there. I was on board until then. Sandwich clearly tastes fucking awesome, but I cannot brook that price from a fast food place.

That's $7 for the combo, though. That's not THAT bad.

Yeah, but consider this: No bread == No carbs! Well, a lot less anyway. Too bad the Atkin's craze peaked about five years ago.

Really? I hadn't noticed. That does change things, but I still resent combo pricing - I never need a drink, so the Whopper combo that costs 6 bucks is nice, but when the sandwich alone costs $4.50, it pisses me off...

That's just ridiculous. How do you even pick it up?

This sandwich is the reason Wal-Mart has powered scooters for you at the door, America.

You know what, though, OCS? I eat stuff like that...not every day or anything, but on a fairly regular basis, and I'm a totally "normal" weight. Not to get into a weight discussion, but I think the key is volume, and of course mixing in healthy stuff from time to time!

Maybe you have a metabolism that can handle 80 grams of fat in one meal without developing your own gravitational field. Or maybe your other lifestyle choices (exercise, etc.) are able to compensate for it. Either way, I hate you.

Well, I will say this...I would not eat that ENTIRE sandwich in one sitting. I would eat half, and save the other half for another meal. That is the key, I think.

I'm with Sarah about mixing healthy food into your unhealthy stuff. I eat way too much ice cream for my own good (my job is the ice cream maker at a local creamery). I eat around to 40 oz. of ice cream each day, 4 days a week, and I still cannot push myself past 160 lbs. But my meals are usually something home cooked with the occasional fast food.

I could make that for about 1/4 as much. And you know what?

    I'm going to.

I can't see how this can go wrong.

Oh man, that's one of the most disgusting things I've seen in a bit. Good old KFC keeping the cardiologists in business.

If I ate 40 oz of ice cream a day my left leg would weigh more than that. I assume it must be your daily 10 mile ice water swim that does the trick.

Oh yeah, and I have too much respect for the tough job my guts do to make them endure that sandwich. Where exactly on a chicken are chicken parts located, anyway?

I worked in an ice cream plant for a couple of years and I ate a lot of ice cream, but while I was working there I lost weight cuz the work was so hard.

Looking at that sandwich makes me want to have a protein spill. To toss my cookies. To call Ralph on the big white phone. Or Hughie!!!

What a disgusting thing it appears to be.

Why does KFC have to be so greasy? I mean, a little bit greasy is one thing, but KFC must own a grease well.

Today I went by Burger King and wanted to try something different, so I got the Angry Tendercrips chicken sandwich. I figured a chicken sandwich would be at least slightly healthier than a burger. Wrong. The Angry Tendercrisp Sandwich has 1,030 calories. That's more than an Angry Whopper which has 880 calories and the regular Whopper which has 680.

The thing had chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomato, jalepenos, and I think some kind of sauce. That's fine. Mayo I think was unecessary. What's really excessive were the bacon and onion rings. That's right, onion rings stuffed into a sandwich. Onions would be fine, but these motherfuckers were battered and fried. I actually got onion rings with my meal, so I didn't need more of them on my sandwich. I think the ones on the sandwich were actually a little better than the ones they serve on the side, though.

I'm pretty much fucked for the day. For dinner I'll be nibbling on some cardboard and then purging.

How different is this than, say, chicken Cordon Bleu?

If this was on a plate, as opposed to being pitch as a sammich, it wouldn't seem so crazy.

You know, you're right, Oliveloaf. For me, two pieces of chicken like that is a lot of food, but I think it's not for most guys, right?

It is not that big at all. I eat 2 western bacon cheeseburgers in one sitting plus fries and a drink.

The chicken in Chicken Cordon Bleu isn't fried, is it? The frying adds a ton of calories.

I've heard that they mayo in some of those chicken sandwiches accounts for something like half the calories! Too bad, because it's the best part. If you really want a healthy option, you need to get the grilled chicken with no sauce on it (no bacon or cheese either, for that matter! ) By that time, what's the point of even going to a fast food place? Well, it's fast, I guess. That's something.
