Who invented the umbrella?
It has been raining like crazy for the last couple of weeks and I have no idea who came up with the modern umbrella.
The idea of a portable covering to keep off the rain has been around for centuries. But anyone have any idea who came up with the modern version which folds away neatly?

According to good old wikipedia it was a man called Samuel Fox. No surprise to me it was a Brit, considering how much rain we get!
