Default Creation for all - just not in America

A new biographical film of Charles Darwin called Creation has just been released worldwide.

However, it appears that none of the American distributors would consider touching it due to differing opinions about evolution vs creationism.

Despite the fact that this film is getting rave reviews, it seems like the US is going to miss out.

So, what's going on over there? Is it really too controversial for Americans to handle?

Looks good, glad it's getting good reviews. But why call it Creation? That makes me a little edgy.

I would have thought releasing it in the US was a no brainer. For some reason evolution is controversial - ticket sales would have been enormous.

    In related news...

    Currently scheduled release dates:

Canada 10 September 2009 (Toronto Film Festival)
    UK 25 September 2009
    Greece 15 October 2009
    Netherlands 15 October 2009
    Belgium 23 December 2009
    Australia 2010
    New Zealand 2010
So who else is going to end up watching a pirated version of this?
Something tells me we haven't seen the last of foreshadowing.
