Default Replacing pull start on chainsaw - need answer fast!

ok, I don't really need an answer fast. I've got an Eager Beaver 2.1ci chain saw minus a pull start cord. I've never replace a pull cord before, but I wouldn't expect it to be to difficult. Is this an easy operation? Are the cords universal and I trim to fit?

Typically, one side of the case/guard will unbolt to expose the spring cage and winder spool. The thing I can't tell you is the number of turns to properly preload the assembly, as that's manufacturer/model specific. Local mower/power equipment shops might be willing to tell you over the phone, if you don't have a factory service manual. Just for the halibut, try searching for the model online, as some manufacturers provide service data for viewing or download.
