Default My breakfast experiment was a tasty failure ...

... but I think the idea is sound.

I've had half of a demi-baguette sitting on my counter for three days, getting well past 'stale' and into 'inedible'. So: french toast. I have all the necessary ingredients: butter, milk, sugar, eggs. But no vanilla. Dang.

But, while I may not keep fundamental baking staples on hand, I do have whiskey. And Jack Daniels would probably go really well in french toast. Genius!

    ...

It wasn't as great as it could have been. I was too stingy with the booze, and the bread was too stale to properly soak up all the eggy-boozey milk.

Nonetheless, the idea is a good one. I shall have to try it again.

A couple of swigs of Jack Daniels could maybe improve your impression of how well it actually turned out.

I approve of efforts to integrate whiskey into breakfast. I think this is an important new avenue of research in the breakfast foods field.

The Johnny Thunders Breakfast Research Institute would probably give you a stipend.

Excellent idea. Other options for improving the taste include: smoke a joint beforehand.

Apparently I'm not the only pioneer in this realm of study.

It would probably work well blended into maple syrup. And then we could use that as a glaze on bacon. And then I could die in happy.

Jack is never an unwelcome addition to coffee.

While I would never try to steer anyone clear of the Jack Daniels route, a hefty shake of cinnamon or a few drops of almond extract might also be substitutes for the vanilla.
