Default Which puzzle set should I buy my kid for his 3rd birthday?

My son is into puzzles. SUPER into puzzles. Every minute we play together, that's what he wants to do "play puzzle with me, mommy!" So, I have to keep getting new ones so we don't all get bored to tears. I want to get him some nice wooden ones for his birthday, and I found some that come in sets of 4. Four new puzzles! All in their own neat little wooden box! W00t!

Each box has a theme, so which one would a three-year-old boy most enjoy, do you think? He has not shown any partiality to any of these things so far, so I can't go on his personal interest level. Any thoughts?

I think it's a toss-up between trains and dinos. I went with dinos.

Trains seem like a reasonably safe bet, but who can predict anything about a three year old?

Hmmm, maybe I'll buy him whatever is second choice here.

That would be awesome. It would be like a present for me, as well.

Oh well then, never mind. I think I'll get him something really, really loud instead.

I'm not sure why I voted for dinosaurs. I just like them. I always have. I even had an unhealthy obsession with the Flintstones when I was tiny. So, yeah. I'm all about exposing little kids to dinosaurs.

My vote was for trains, though dinosaurs and farm life are good, too. Any of those would be fun for a 3 year old boy, I think!

I voted trains because I loved saying "choo-choo" with my kids.
They weren't singing....they were just honking.

Dinosaurs seem like an almost sure bet with Trains be the next. Does he like Thomas the Train yet?

Yeah, like that wasn't a given already or anything.

Yeah, Jim, he likes Thomas, and trains in general...he's not a fanatic about them like some kids are. He's super into The Wonder Pets:

He has a toy that looks just like that picture...the "flyboat" with the 3 wonder pets...and he flys it all over the house.

But you are right that you can't really go wrong with trains & dinos. Are farm animals too babyish?

Not too babyish, but I would bet not as popular as the other two.
