Doesn't happen often. Usually Krauthammer and I are on opposite sides of issues such as invading countries. But in this piece about the Moon he exactly expresses my thoughts. Creepy.

We took a dip in the ocean, then retreated to the tidal pool of Low Earth Orbit -- and pretty soon the U.S. won't even have orbital capacity. I don't understand it.

1) The technology involved is largely either held in private patents, classified, or already public information; NASA can't sell it to anybody.

2) The costs are not exorbitant.

3) It's not a hobby.

Krauthammer may be really far right, but he's also intelligent and reasonable.

He's had an unusual life. I didn't know until recently that he's been paraplegic since the 1970s.
