Everybody! W000T!
Everybody! W000T!
I knew there was a reason I wanted beer even more than usual.
Faith n'begorrah, ye lads n'lassies.
I'm wearing green plaid boxers, a green t-shirt and a green plaid flannel shirt. That's all I have, until I go outside with my green jacket on. (I'll have to go outside soon, before it warms up.)
WTF did I just say?
Here in Dublin (Ohio), where I work, St Pat's day comes early: the parade was on Saturday, and I have the pictures to show of it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/7590540...en/2009/03/14/
But today I'm wearing a green shirt, just in case of angry leprechauns or the like.
Nah, I gave you a free pass with the others, you're good.![]()

I could use a beer.
All the green-wearing people, post in 3acres' thread.![]()
Sarahfeena, I have Guinness...

I've got a corned beef and cabbage in the fridge waiting to be cooked.

I'll try and get a pic of my kiddos later...they are wearing matching green t-shirts today!
I'm wearing [del:2j9yne6z]black[/del:2j9yne6z] very dark green.
Rigardu, kaj vi ekvidos.
Look, and you will begin to see.
Sadly i don't believe in saints and I'm not a leprechaun stomper either. Last time my peeps were in Yurp was in the 1500s and they came from England. But England and Ireland were friends back then, right?

Yes, indeed: a summary of the excellent relations between England and Ireland in the 16th century can be found in the Wikipedia article on the Tudor reconquest of Ireland.Originally posted by Inigo Montoya
The wife is cooking up corned beef and cabbage, I have Guinness in the fridge, I'll pick up a six-pack of Harp on the way home and I'm wearing a Green Lantern t-shirt under my usual gaudy attire, which also happens to be green. Hell, I'm even drinking green tea!
But all of my Irish ancestors were Protestants.......

Got Irish stew on the stove, and thanks for reminding me to get the Guinness in the fridge.

Wearing my Red Sox tee (Green Monster counts, doesn't it?), cooking up some corned beef and cabbage.
Waiting for the other half to get home with the beer.
Life is good.
I guess I shall also add:  for good measure.
I am half-way through a pint of Guinness, the cats are wearing orange(Pixel) and green(Havoc) collars, and based on the smells coming from the kitchen, dinner will be superb! Happy happy joy joy.

Happy St.Patrick's Day to all of you who celebrate the day!
They weren't singing....they were just honking.

I spent most of the day celebrating my eldest nephew's birthday. The poor kid was born on Saint Patrick's Day and was named Daniel. He's only fifteen now, but I can foresee many, many birthdays in his future where he's serenaded with drunken versions of "Danny Boy."
So now they are just dirt-covered English people in fur pelts with credit cards.
My question is: where are all the Irish men!?? Can I put in an order for one?
I went with a couple of co-workers to the nearby pub and had a Guinness and a Jameson's.
No cage, thank you. I'm a human being.
I am getting fantastically drunk and going to bed with a hot man of mostly Irish descent.
Good night everyone!
I'm pro-choice and I shoot back.
Boston. They're all in Boston. They're not good for much this morning, but I'll send you pictures of the first dozen cute ones to recover. Choose one and I'll pack him up and ship him. :mrgreen:Originally posted by Sleeps w/Butterflies
Ugh, I know. Boston. The bad thing is, they're almost ALWAYS Red Sox fans which I cannot have. Some people have smoking as a deal breaker, I can't have a Red Sox fan. ;(
Hey! I married a Red Sox fan. The female variety are just as crazy as the male. But there are over-riding benefits that make it of less concern.
Luckily, we have enough corned beef left over for sandwiches and hash. I even got fresh rye and saurkraut for Reubens!

I'm an Irish guy and I hate all Sox, white or red.

How do you feel about Argyle?

I'm a Yankees fan, so I just can't match myself with a Red Sox fan at all. Any other team is workable.
I can even take someone who hates baseball, just not a Sux fan.
I'm a Cubs fan with the Dodgers being my backup team. So how you doin?![]()

Heh. I'm a Red Sox fan, and I dated a Yankees fan for years. Of course, I don't actually hate the Yankees (as a matter of fact, I've historically been that one sane person in the crowd saying "Um, they clearly DON'T suck, ya whiny bitches. Stop embarrassing yourselves."), so it's easy for me to be good humored about it.
And to think, I used to like you.Originally posted by Sleeps w/Butterflies

Just getting this baby primed for this year.
I think we will be using St Patty's day as an Irish Wake for a friend. Though I am still waiting on the details.
I plan on carrying out my family traditions this year, though we're all spread across the continent at the moment. It shall be a good night.
So now they are just dirt-covered English people in fur pelts with credit cards.
The wake seems to have been paired way down so instead we're having a really small St Patty's day dinner.
I've no plans. We have a long weekend, but since I'm underemployed right now, every weekend is long for me. I'm babysitting my niece tomorrow night. That's the only concrete plan. Not sure if I can be arsed going to the parade, I haven't been in years. I was even thinking of opening the bookstore on Saturday (usually stores close here on Paddy's Day).
I'm sensing a new expression:"Empty as an Irish bookstore on St. Patrick's Day."
I'm wearing a green shirt and flying the flag of the 69th New York, of Irish Brigade fame, outside:
Riamh nár dhruid ó spairn lann
"They never fled from the clash of spears"
I've got on a green shirt with the phrase "Feeling Lucky?" and the interlocking NY of the NY Yankees below it. The dot on the ? is a shamrock of course.
Public Service Announcement: drinking draft Guinness out of a Solo cup kind of ruins it.
Guinness is pig swill at the best of times. Its enduring international popularity astounds me.
What sort of beer do you like best, AG?
