    Default I am thankful for...

My family. Almost all of us are together today (my pregnant niece managed to make it at the last minute, thrilling us to no end) and we have all of our family traditions playing out. It's incredibly reassuring and pleasing to have things stay the same in that regard, even when we live hundreds or thousands of miles apart.

My career. It's hard at times and exhausting, but I do something I love, which is far more than many people can say. I'm incredibly lucky and I try to remind myself of that often.

My friends. I am so incredibly lucky to have wonderful people in my life. Many of them I've never met in person or we haven't seen each other in years, but the bonds of friendship continue and I'm deeply grateful for that.

And yes, that includes you Mellos.
So now they are just dirt-covered English people in fur pelts with credit cards.

My husband and kids...I'm as lucky as can be in that regard.

That my sister had a beautiful healthy baby this year.

My career, which is more rewarding right now than it ever has been before.

Also grateful for the Mellos. You guys always make me smile.

-My dad. I've been called "spoiled," but the truth is I know how lucky I am to have him in my life (especially after this summer).

-My very understanding creative writing instructor, who is almost as encouraging as....

-My best friend, who is awesome enough to get her very own bullet point on the list.

-My sisters, who are just amazing.

-My other friends (including y'all), without whom my life would be fairly boring and narrow.
So, I'll whisper in the dark, hoping you'll hear me.

Me too. Today is not my Thanksgiving, but I can wholeheartedly join in in giving thanks for this medium which has allowed me, like Zuul, to have friends I've never met in person.

My family first and foremost. We're all in reasonable health even my 95+ old grandmother.
That turkey day came together well and successfully and that the cleanup is mostly done.
    My friends, IRL and Internet.

My wife and three boys, my family, my friends, my health, my job, Mellophant and SDMB, good food, a nice house, my church, my country, books, TV, movies, games, and another day to enjoy them all. Happy Thanksgiving, one and all!
