Default It's time once again: what are your plans for the weekend?

I've got a manuscript I have to go over for editing. It's a fairly interesting book, though not what I'd normally read. I'm just glad to have an assignment I don't utterly loathe.

I also have some of my own writing I need to get done at some point.

Away from the computer, the weather is supposed to be a bit cooler and a bit less rainy this weekend! So I might go outside and go hiking. Now that I'm living in a town again, that'll involve some driving out into the boonies, but I think I can manage that.

If I still had a grill, I'd think it'd be perfect for some outdoor cooking, too. Maybe I'll see if I can talk a friend into bringing one over.

What are any of you planning?

I'm planning on remaining mostly horizontal, finally watching the first episode of Hair Battle Spectacular, catching up on The Fabulous Beakman Boys and Project Runway. Oh, and making sure my download of RoboGeisha finishes.

oh my god my weekend is about tv. LAWD, my life has come to this!

Also, I will finally get back to my portuguese lessons. Even if it kills me (or preferably someone else)

My class reunion is this weekend. I'm not going to the actual reunion, but there's a cocktail-party meet & greet thing tonight, and I'm going to that. Other than that, don't have too much planned.

P.S. Panther, Project Runway was awesome this week. Are you watching the Austin & Santino show, too?

We have the kids this weekend. Today: grocery shopping (I plan out meals ahead of time for weekends with the kids; poking through cupboards to see what's around is less workable when you're feeding seven), take my son to get some shoes after school. This weekend: maybe a movie, nickelcade, park, try to minimize breakage and meltdowns.

Yes, I am! I adore them; the show format is boring, but you cannot possibly go wrong with the two of them. I feel like they have good chemistry, with their bickering and all.

Additionally, I'm now amending my weekend plans. I will be cooking at least one delicious meal a day. Today I am making banana-topped crepes.

Saturday will be catch up on making appointments, letters, and phone calls, and booking the August vacation...whitewater rafting in Maine, with some fishing and a moose safari. If I have time I need to clean the apartment and do laundry.

Sunday I have a "date" with a new lady friend...I've been meaning to start a thread about that situation.

I seem to have caught a summer cold. So I'll be spending the weekend trying to get better before I go back to work on Monday. Good times.

I think I have time to catch Saturday's episode of "Motor City Madness" on a local low-power radio station.

Really the radio equal of public-access TV, this station is packed with low-budget, low-production-value, under-developed content, and this car show is, by far, the most entertaining.

The host really doesn't know anything about cars, often resorting to reading lists of cars that he found on line.

"Remember the Hornet? That was a car they built in 1973..."

My favorite recurring line on the show is, "I thought we'd have some callers today."

The host spends as much time touting the success and reach of his show as he does actually discussing anything.

I cannot explain why I love listening to this...but I do. It's awesome. And I hope to listen tomorrow.

Oh! And Sunday we're going to the beach!

Today we have a couple of friends over. We're going to catch Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, I'm going to set up a viv for my new frog, and there might be Shakespeare in the park later on.

Saturday is grandpa-apartment cleaning day and shitloads-of-meetings day for me.

Sunday will be spent getting ready for school. Nooo.

I'm driving to Memphis on Saturday for a friend's (second) wedding, then driving back on Sunday. That's probably about it.

I didn't remember that was this weekend when I posted before, and I'm super excited about it. It's a craft fair, but it's not supposed to be the cheesy lame "primitive" cutesy crafts that the shrinking majority in this state likes. Hopefully it won't just be booth after booth of fused glass and wooden pens, and I'll find some artistic inspiration.
