Weirdness in "New Subscribed Threads" behaviour

I usually start my Mellophant browsing by hitting the "Control Panel" and checking to see if there are any new responses to threads I've posted in. That way if I'm in too much of a rush to browse the whole board, I can at least see if there is anything I want to respond to in a thread I've been participating in.

Sometimes the panel throws up old threads that don't actually have a recent post. For example, just now I checked the control panel and it listed a thread in which the last post was April 17 or so (not only that, but I was the one who made the post).

Does this happen to anyone else? By itself it is only a small problem and I don't really care. But I'd hate to think that, just as threads that SHOULDN'T be listed are being given, maybe threads that SHOULD be listed are not. (And that would be sad, 'cuz I like to try to have the last word and kill threads and stuff like that.)

I've seen that occur with threads that have a poll. If someone votes, then it bumps it, even though the last post is quite old.

Hmm, I have not noticed whether it is always in a poll that this happens. It could be.

Try as I might, I no longer recall which thread caused me to post this comment. (It's not because I'm old; I've ALWAYS had a shitty memory.) Of course, it is no longer appearing.

I will keep track in the future. The problem is intermittent, occurring maybe once every week or two, so it may take me a while to develop data points.

Any clue on why all the double posting? It is the board clearly and not posters with the numbers I have seen. Not sure if there is a fix or not.

The strange resurfacing of an old thread in the control panel claiming new posts when there aren't any just happened to me again (desert island beverage thread) and yes indeed, it was a poll.
