It's not every day you just come across an almost completely clean animal skull lying on the sidewalk outside your office. Fortunately I work at a science museum. We haven't positively identified it yet, but I think it's a doggie. :(

I found a cat's skull and spine whilst out walking my dog once. Alas, I didn't take it home with me!
THis is more of a Monday picture, really.

Pandas! :)
Over the weekend I was sorting out some photos and found this one from a few years ago. Funny, it didn't strike me as anything special at the time, but now it strikes me as a touching juxtaposition of youth and antiquity.

I changed the picture, but not the title!
Like this one a lot, says the wanna-be photographer.Quote:

That was shot in B&W in camera, not processed to monochrome. I've been doing a lot of B&W lately.
How do you like this one? I would like to get the black blacker, guess I will just have to practice more!

One of my granddaughters, Emma. Her parents call her 'Weasel'. I'm sure she will grow up scarred.
I met a new friend today.

Steam Locomotive No. 844 is the last steam locomotive built for Union Pacific Railroad. It was delivered in 1944. The engine has run hundreds of thousands of miles as Union Pacific's ambassador of goodwill. It has made appearances at Expo '74 in Spokane, the 1981 opening of the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, the 1984 World's Fair in New Orleans and the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Los Angeles Union Station in 1989.
Hailed as Union Pacific's "Living Legend," the engine is widely known among railroad enthusiasts for its excursion runs, especially over Union Pacific's fabled crossing of Sherman Hill between Cheyenne and Laramie, Wyoming.
