Not especially. Not much an anglophile, I'm afraid.
TNP has some stupid chores to take care of at home, things that couldn't really be put off much longer.

Not especially. Not much an anglophile, I'm afraid.
TNP has some stupid chores to take care of at home, things that couldn't really be put off much longer.
Yes. We really should clean and refinish our wooden floors.
TNP has black and white tile in at least one room of his or her abode.
No! I have lived in a place for a number of years with that kind of *Clue: The Boardgame* tiling, but I don't think I know anyone currently with that kind of design.
TNP thinks the classic styles are the best.
Generally, yes. Although I like some modern architecture, for instance.
TNP has been to Fallingwater: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallingwater
No. I might have been in spitting distance of it, probably. I used to walk by a FLW house all the time, I think it was a place you could pay to go inside and stuff. Never went in.
TNP likes museums/zoos/stuff like that.
Oh, yeah. Museums - both history and art - are big draws for me.
TNP has been in Atlanta in the past five years.
False - but then I've never been stateside
TNP celebrates Easter with Chocolate Eggs
No, but I join my nephews for an easter egg hunt -- I think the "prizes" are those little gold-wrapped coins hidden inside little plastic eggs. And, yes, I refrain from taking all the gelt for myself.
TNP likes hot cocoa as a drink, kind of to a disturbing degree.
False. Just hook the coffee to my veins!
TNP has a dickhead boss (unless poasting from work).
"Boss? I don't have a 'boss'!"
TNP can name the movie that's from!
Just guessing, because I haven't seen it: Office Space?
TNP has seen Office Space.
False, never seen it. Come close to living it on occasions, but never seen it.
TNP has purchased a limited edition item of some description, as in less than 10,000 made.
Hmm. No, I don't think so. Tempted sometimes, but always too expensive, whatever it was.
TNP has a favorite sports car, even if he or she doesn't own one.
I don't know. A black towncar, with tinted windows, and a driver would be the best, but I don't think chauffeurs (or chauffeuses?) come with the cars.
TNP has, in recent memory read a book by, or met somebody, named "Mordechai" (first name).humorous, I just now found an extract from a book by Bentley, and also am reading a book by Priest -- they are all connected, somehow.
No, I don't think so.
TNP has a relative named Catherine, Katherine, Kathryn or some variant thereof.
No. I had a girlfriend named Katie once. Not sure if that was short for something. We lived together like a year, so I probably should know. I think it might have been Katharine, with that weird spelling. Maybe not.
TNP smashed the shit out of everyone's hardboiled eggs except my oldest nephew -- I went easy on him. The secret? Find where the air is in the egg, and don't use that end. I had a brown egg, too. I called it my Bob Gibson brown bomber egg.
No, since I don't know any of your nephews! The closest I came to that today was throwing out some hardboiled-egg remnants that no one else wanted.
TNP ate at least three jelly beans today.
No, but I think the Dewey might have http://i.imgur.com/9I4XC0R.jpg.
TNP is in an OK mood today.
False. The days of holding my head down and the nights of sleeping on my side, waiting for the gas bubble in my eye to go away are starting to wear on me.
TNP ate ham yesterday and will eat it today.
False. I ate ham yesterday and ate my foil-wrapped "doggie bag" of ham yesterday as soon as I got home as well.
TNP likes to fast.
Now and then, yes. I feel virtuous and sometimes even lose a little weight that way.
TNP will be traveling out of town in the next two weeks.
Probably not.
TNP likes scrambled eggs only if they have cheese in them.
Nope. I like 'em either way, with a good dash of salt.
TNP prefers bacon to sausage.
No. Bacon is delish, but it goes too fast. It's easy to eat a giant mound of bacon at once, whereas sausage is a better addition to a real meal. Rice, legumes, eggs, sandwiches, soups, stews, fallen-on-the-floor-mulligans, etc.
TNP prefers homemade sausage to store-bought.
Again, no, I'm happy with either. I'm not a purist when it comes to breakfast meats.
TNP finds this restful (it repeats every eight minutes or so): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSmToj9VZ4s
It's very nice. But I don't find it restful especially. Too much going on to concentrate on. TMI but I really dislike having music on when I screw also.
TNP likes the sound of silence.
Yes. One of my most memorable such experiences was on the shore of a lake in northern Wisconsin when I was a teenager. Absolutely, uncannily silent.
TNP likes Simon & Garfunkel.
Yeah, life-long fan.
TNP likes dulce de leche ice cream.
Definitely. The Girl Scout cookies in that flavor were also quite good (don't think they're offered this year).
TNP has spoken with an elected official in the past month.
False. Given my line of work, it's fairly routine for me to speak to one, but not lately.
TNP needs another damn retinal detachment surgery next week and is getting pretty damn tired of thinking about retinal detachment.
No, fortunately! Hope it goes well for you. (I've thought of Lasik eye surgery now and then, but am just a bit too leery of having lasers near my eyeballs. I'm funny that way.)
TNP has more than three pairs of prescription eyewear.
No, probably exactly three. Cheaters, regular, and a backup regular put together with crazy glue.
TNP is thinking about buying some more stylish frames for regular glasses, and maybe with some tinting added (not to look cool, necessarily, but to deal with the irritation of fluorescent lights [or, generally, overhead lights of any kind]).
True. But not hipster glasses.
TNP has heard this tune about blind men, or is about to.
No, I hadn't before, but I like it!
TNP has attended a service at a black Christian church.
Yes, but not COGIC, more like mellow inter-denominational things, which were more kind of mixed-race events, people from the neighborhood.
TNP knows what "shouting" is, for a church in praise.
No, doesn't sound like something I would have encountered growing up Anglican.
TNP has been to a chiropractor.
No. Too many chiropractors overstate the effectiveness and applicability of their skill IMHO.
TNP has been to a dentist in the past two months.
Yes, about ten days ago. Nice clean teeth, and I'm going to keep them that way, unlike my usual. Only three "fours" for gum recession -- the rest are 3s. Pretty nasty exposed roots on two teeth in particular. Apparently I have no cavities, so that's good -- and surprising, given my love for drinking beer and my diet of pretty much exclusively rice (the carbohydrate sugars are not supposed to be good for the teeth), and, after having enough beer, I never ever brush my teeth.
TNP has a good dentist and is very happy with his or her hygienist, which is good, because I pay out of pocket for that shit, so they better be fucking good.
Yes, I've been going to the same dentist for many years now. Nice lady.
TNP has heard the Steven Wright joke, "I like my dentist so much, I eat an entire package of Oreos just before I go in to see her. She has to cancel all of her other appointments for the rest of the day."
Yeah, I think I've heard that one.
TNP is a big fan of Steve Wright in general.
Oh, yeah. I've seen him on stage twice. Hits my funny bone just right - love the guy.
TNP has seen a standup comic live in the past two months.
No.
TNP thinks comedians are generally pretty sketchy people, like mimes or street hustlers.
Some are, but not all - maybe not even most. As a group, then, I'd have to say no.
TNP knows a mime.
Not personally.
TNP has seen a movie of a mime talking.
Yes - Mel Brooks's Silent Movie.
TNP has seen that movie, too.
Of course.
TNP knew Brooks and David Lynch are (or were) like total buds.
I vaguely remembered that. Brooks produced and helped bankroll Lynch's The Elephant Man, I know.
TNP has a fondness for elephants.
I like baby elephants -- they are kind of rambunctious.
TNP likes goats.
True, especially curried.
TNP could murder a vindaloo right now.
Yes, I am a bit peckish at the moment.
TNP has used the word "peckish" in the past month.
Spitz does not do peckish. I either eat or I don't.
TNP enjoys Mexican food.
I fucking love Mexican food, and actually all good foods from "south of the border" (relative to right-thinking individuals). Mexicans are giant pusses about making things spicyHot, though. I eat only a few categories of food, habitually: rice, wheat, corn, beans, dairy, maybe meat, lots of spices, and vitamins. Mix it all up and you have a feast.
TNP likes to eat stuff from taco trucks like tongue tacos and stuff.
Haven't had - or seen offered - tongue tacos yet, but yes, there's a very good taco truck in my city. Don't have it around nearly often enough, though.
TNP has considered going into the restaurant trade in some way.
Yeah, I think being a small-business accountant for a restaurant would be kind of fun for if I turn 65 and want to be around a bunch of junkie hipsters and moron restaurant "owners" (they are invariably in great debt) and their spouses.
TNP thinks the good way is the easiest way.
Not necessarily. Read Kant.
TNP is planning an overseas trip soon.
No way. I've already been places. I just want to stay where I am.
TNP will also quote some movie/book/whatever.
YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!
TNP likes KFC.
Meh, it's OK. I lke the fried chicken, but they don't do it that good, IMO. But, yeah, ii'd eat it.
TNP has made good fried chicken at home without makng a bad grease fire.
Closest I've come to frying chicken well is in a stirfry. Only thing I deep fry is freedom fries.
TNP knows chickens can see UV light.
What? I don't know what that means.
TNP did college physics
No. College level, I did music, retail, business... not physics.
TNP hooked up at college.
You know, I'd have to think. Yeah, sure, I had a steady thing for the first year, and then broke that off, and then did some. So I'm going to say, I only had two penetration partners in college (from ages 18-22? well, whenever it was). Honestly, by the time I was 18 I had about all the spunk out of my my system and I was extremely serious as a student. Honest answer: I really don't know. After UG college I got a bunch of strange, but as an UG, I was busy.
TNP has no real idea how many sexual partners he or she has had.
A rough ballpark figure, but I couldn't give an exact number. I didn't leave notches on the bedpost. And even if I did, i haven't had the same bed for a long time.
TNP likes yogurt.
Yeah, sure. Not the fruity kind, but some of the really sour stuff. Haven't had yogurt in years, though. It was a good plot-point in..........................one of those Truffaut movies with the kid.......Le'aude or whatever his name was............working in the shoe store......well, whatever that movie was. "Yogurt or cheese?" "Yogurt!"
TNP has eaten and drank too much recently, and recently must have been compelled to clean up the giant mess he or she made.
Stolen Kisses, apparently. Yeah, that's the movie with the yogurt in it and the shoe store. Good movie.
Yes, true.
TNP was recently thinking that asking for strange meats from some guy in a van is probably not a great idea. Not that beef tongue isn't good stuff, but how long has it been sitting it Cheech and Chong's ice chest?
Eh, if I've heard of that particular truck before, or if lots of other people are ordering from it, I'll get in line.
TNP loves singing in a choir or chorus.
Nah. Well, actually I probably would, but no one would enjoy listening to me.
TNP likes to play the piano.
Yeah, it's fun, because it's something I can do.
TNP really doesn't sucking at things, and prefers just sticking to the program -- seriously. Me, for example, I fucking hate doing stuff I'm not good at.
Yes. If I'm going to do something, I want to be able to do it well.
TNP practices doing something at least weekly.
Yeah, I guess practicing "non-classical logics" and various kinds of maths counts. That's really about it.
TNP enjoys being disciplined, in general.
Yes, although it's fun to just let go and act silly now and then, too.
TNP strives to be punctual.
Always. I can't say I'm *never* late (occasionally the train breaks down, or there's a wreck, or you wake up and have diarrhea), but I can probably count on both hands the times I've been late for a meeting/engagement in my life.
NOW, for "late turning in paperwork of any kind"................that happens all the time. I take my lumps like a man, but I procrastinate so hard both my brain cells hurt from the friction.
TNP always makes good on his or her promises, though, even if eventually.
Pretty much. I won't say I've never failed, but my failures burn.
TNP is looking forward to being able to hold their head up next week, even if the recovery from the damned retina detachment ordeal is far from over.
Yes. I have received funding for the finishing of my CS degree, and, for once, not only have a (a) prepared ahead of time for this term (as I always do, perhaps compulsively -- meaning, read all the textbooks, mark out a trajectory among items of significant bibliographic interest, and practice technical stuff I may be shaky on) but (b) have been, thanks to eschewing my bugbear, viz., drinking to excess except for two times in the past two months, doing perfect work, ahead of time.
TNP dislikes the STEM disciplines, primarily because of the emphasis on testing. Cf. Avital Ronell, *The Test Drive*
Yeah, I was never the star of the class in math, science etc. But history, English, social studies, art - I ruled.
TNP likes this OneRepublic song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hT_nvWreIhg
Yeah, I clonked on it, and respect to the guy for being high and tight, but honestly, I stopped watching it under two seconds.
TNP has had a perfect stranger do a really nice favor recently for him or her, gave a man hug, and just went separate ways. It was kind of awesome, in my case -- that's what's supposed to happen.
No, don't think that's ever happened to me. I don't hug perfect strangers as a rule.
TNP has big plans for the weekend.
Holding my head up straight on Sunday. That's pretty huge for me lately.
TNP has what most people would call big plans for the weekend.
No. Just restrung a guitar, planning to write lyrics and remember the fallen. Preparing for a tech assessment of a new studio on Monday. I get to geek it up haha.
TNP has been in awe of nature within the past 17 hours.
Not that recently, but we did have a jaw-droppingly beautiful sunset a few days ago.
TNP makes it a point to stay up for eclipses.
no, I really don't have the geography to get to see solar eclipses/rad meteor showers/or really much cool.
TNP calls it a good night when he or she can see the sky. You know what I mean -- see the stars and stuff.
There are places just outside my city, where you can sleep on the beach and see stars that are stunning (no light pollution blocking the view). The night sky's not so bad in the city, either.
TNP has been to the dentist recently.
Yep. And I love going to the dentist -- makes me feel like I get a fresh start.
TNP saw a good movie recently.
Yes, last night I saw Safe House, a pretty good spy thriller mostly set in South Africa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IfQY4fNcnw
TNP thinks he or she would be a pretty good spy, given the chance.
Nicely done! I don't know if I saw *Safe House* or not - sounds cool.
TNP is having a surpsingly busy Sunday!
Yes. Church service this morning, followed by a discussion led by the Episcopal Bishop of Atlanta, then a parade and memorial observances downtown for the 150th anniversary of President Lincoln's death and funerary train. Now I'm going to have a bite to eat and then go walk the dog.
TNP has a dog or cat.
No, not since I was a kid.
TNP likes peach ice cream,
No! Hate it. I don't like peaches in any form. My favorite ice cream flavors are mint chocolate chip, Heath Bar Crunch or raspberry sherbet.
TNP has picked fruit off the vine, bush or tree in the past year.
Not that recently, I don't think.
TNP is watching the big fight.
Maybe, if I have time. Not really a boxing fan, but I hope the Fillipino guy smashes the other one.
TNP will be watching Eurovision.
Nope. I won't be watching any TV this weekend until I see the latest Game of Thrones late tomorrow.
TNP is a big GOT fan.
Don't think so. Is that a TV show?
TNP has bought a new electrical appliance within the last 500 hours.
Only my new vibrating buttplug.
TNP likes electricity and magnetic stuff in general.
By and large, yeah.
TNP is very, very tired.
True. It's Monday morning, which doesn't help.
TNP is due for blood tests soon.
True. 20 minutes ago!
TNP has recently discovered something cool about their city.
Yeah, that its children are weak and that its women are loud.
TNP has something positive to say about today.
Well, so far I've lived through it.
TNP snores
I've been told I snore "lightly". In a "cute" way.
TNP gets tonsil stones.
No - have never heard of them before, but I'm guessing they're unpleasant.
TNP still has his or her appendix.
True. And tonsil stones (IME) are uncomfortable but not painful, and smell like sewerage.
TNP has wisdom teeth.
Yes, except for one. Kind of neat to "watch" it get extracted, though. Lots of cool instruments with funny names, like "East-West" and other stuff.
TNP has recently done a so-so job on one task, and an abominable task on another job.
No, I've been doing my job pretty well, I think.
TNP has given a speech in the past two months.
No, haven't had a dream lately.
TNP likes pineapple.
Yes! In chunks for breakfast, or shredded on pepperoni pizza, especially.
TNP could go for a pizza right about now.
Hell yes. I left my bankcard at a bar last week, immediately stopped it, found the bar still had it, and it still hasn't arrived. Not going to do delivery, though.....in addition to massive amounts of beer or whiskey, I'm going buy some shitty frozen pizza.
TNP likes junk food on occasions.
Oh, yes. Too often. Favorites: BBQ potato chips, Japanese Cheeza crackers, Oreos and Slim Jim meat sticks.
TNP has never eaten a Slim Jim (and is all the healthier for it).
How would anyone know the little sub-clause's truth, mister man? I saw people on *My Name Is Earl* who probably ate a lot of Slim Jims, and maybe they were, or not. No, I have eaten Slim Jims, in moments of weakness and sobriety about the my comrades but they were ... not too bad. Meh, tastier than a candy bar, to me.
TNP has eaten some truly weird shit. And is a regular Bruce Jenner/Hulk Hogan for it.
The weirdest stuff I've eaten is buffalo, octopus and shark (not simultaneously), which is not all that weird. So no.
TNP is not surprised by Bruce Jenner's recent transformation.
False, it's been a bit of a surprise to me. This board used to have a huge transgender population -- to bad they're all gone, I would have liked their input.
TNP doesn't understand why Starbucks doesn't work harder had stocking decent food.
True. The few times I've tried their pastries they've been either stale or tasteless.
TNP gets something from Starbucks at least weekly, on average.
Not at all. If I get coffee to go, I have weird rules like I'm not going to pay over a dollar for it. And yet I'm using their WiFi gratis.
TNP saw a few women over the past few days who had excellent strategies for avoiding unwanted contact. E.g., ballcap, and one lady affected being a nursing mother. Smart! See, these are women who are street-smart.
No, just the usual folks - male and female alike - who studiously avoid eye contact.
TNP was very surprised by the British election results.
There was a British election? I hope it was about their cricket. They need help.
TNP wants me to send them some /vegemite caramel chocolate when it hits the shelves next month.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-05-0...ash-up/6454050
No, please don't trouble yourself!
TNP has seen Dame Maggie Smith in at least three movies over the years.
Probably not. I'm sure she's great, but I don't know her by name, and she sounds English.
TNP has, as an adult, occasionally taken refuge on a hot day just seeing whatever is at the local movie theater.
Probably not the only factor, but I'm pretty sure that my kid and I have taken air-conditioning into account when figuring what we were going to do on a weekend afternoon.
TNP is considering writing a book called "Retinal Detachment and its Aftermath: A Horror Story".
Yes, and you're going to be telling it. I'm not picky about getting credit for setting up the microphone.
TNP is not feeling in the greatest of health these days. Lots of itching and bad sleep.
No, I'm doing pretty well healthwise. Took a long brisk walk last night and it felt good.
TNP prefers walking to running.
Sure enough. I do enjoy the semi-masochistic effort of running (in short stretches), but walking is more "the long haul" type thing.
TNP fancies that he or she has a really cool stride.
I think I look neither cool nor silly when I walk. Pretty normal, all in all.
TNP has flown on an airplane in the past 30 days.
No, it's been a few years since I had any good reason to step inside a perfectly good airplane.
TNP is skeptical that Positive Train Control will ever be made a feature of train travel. Primarily because of operator and official intransigence.
Agreed. Also cost.
TNP has been on a non-local train in the past 60 days.
Not either, come to think of it. I used to ride trains all around the country all the time -- just haven't had any reason to recently.
TNP doesn't enjoy traveling, really.
Now and then, I don't mind it. On long trips I like to drive and listen to my iPod plugged into the car stereo, or fly and to catch up on my reading. Haven't been on a train in years.
TNP has at least three books underway right now.
Hah. That's a good one. Who *only* has three books going? eta ur probably talking about novels and stuff -- I'm still trying to get through *JR*...as you know, quantity counts when amassing a bibliography, however, and a lot of math and philosophy books, you just read a chapter here, examine this there. Very few non-fiction, analytic books are designed to be read cover-to-cover
TNP has a lot more than ten books in the wood-chipper.
No, I rarely throw away or recycle books.
TNP really should mow the lawn.
Not at all. No lawn, and I like it that way.
TNP reads a lot of books/articles in digital form (pdf, djvu, whatever).
Articles yes, books no. If I'm going to read a book, I want something I can hold in my hand and turn the pages.
TNP loves, as I do, the smell of old pulpy paperbacks.
Not really. I enjoy having physical copies of books -- much easier, in many cases, to flip to a page or have some physical mnemonic recollection of where I need to turn -- but the actual physical presence is unappreciated outside of a proper library.
TNP has trimmed his or her personal library down to a pretty reasonable stash of books.
No, my book collection tends to accumulate over time, although at a slower rate than it used to. I'm much more likely to get books from the library these days than to buy them unless I really love them and want to keep a copy.
TNP goes to the library at least monthly.
Yeah, like daily.
TNP has to go in and request they make a trace on a book he or she returned like a long time ago. Glad he or she has excellent rapport with the people behind the desk.
Now and then. My local library is pretty good about that.
TNP uses interlibrary loan with some frequency.
Yeah, because my "libraries" suck so I have to use it all the time to get even basic material. The librarians in the ILL office really seem to enjoy compliments on their efforts, though. I suspect they realize the deficiencies in their system.
TNP occasionally has ducked into the public library to take a dump or open a bottle of booze into a flask. Hey, that seems to be its raison d'e^tre in my town, so why not. They have insignificant holdings in books, even though the staff seem pretty competent, I guess.
Changed TNP: TNP is really annoyed by the sounds of children screeching or playing games or whatever it is they do. Like nails on a chalkboard -- very annoying.
No, doesn't bother me, as long as it's appropriate to the time and place.
TNP has at least three nieces or nephews.
Yeah, but still kids' noises are really annoying.
TNP can't stand children's music either. Those kids should grow up and listen to adult music, like some Aretha or something!
I'm with you there. Unless a kid I know and love is singing it, kids' music can be very annoying. And don't get me started on Barney...!
TNP knows a guy named Barney, and he's actually kinda nice.
I know one, who's roly-poly enough to be the purple Barney, but with a face like a smashed crab (maybe not suited to children's entertainment). AFAIK he's a decent enough fellow.
TNP enjoys New Zealand beer.
All I've had is Steinlager, and that was a long time ago. It was OK.
TNP likes beer better than wine.
False. I like them both about the same, but prefer one or the other at different times: beer with everyday food, wine with higher-end grub.
TNP has at least three bottles of the same vintage of wine.
False. White wine makes me ache, red wine makes me punchy. I never have more than 1 glass of wine.
TNP reacts badly to a specific kind of alcohol.
Well, red wine turns my "movements" pretty reddish-brown. Also 4-Loko. Other than that, not so much -- it's all the same to me.
TNP takes medications as prophylactics (in my case, I'm addicted to Mucinex [guaifenesin] and that fake sudafed [stupid tweakers getting the real stuff off the market, virtually]).
False. I do not have any bottles of any alcohol that makes me ill. This includes the ones you mentioned.
TNP has finished a course of study recently.
And also loratidine. First thing when I got my stipend this term was buy 120 tablets like I was a king. It's not that great, but it helps.
ETA I didn't see when I drunkenly obtused about loratidine. No. No finishing for the wicked, just getting more of the good stuff and publishing more.
TNP recently bit their tongue pretty good.
No, haven't done that in awhile, fortunately.
TNP has seen Brendan Gleeson in both Calvary and The Guard.
I haven't seen *Calvary* yet -- I like his stuff, though.
TNP is a fan of the Irish arts.
Yeah, I know named Barend, who is sometimes called Bjarne by professors. He muttered angrily during a class "my name is Barend" -- he might have been angry at me, for all I know, but I always pronounce "Barend" correctly enough. I don't really know why professors call him a homonym of "Barney." I'm also not sure where he's from -- Sweden or Denmark, I guess. If I knew it would be easy enough to ask him. Well, I only know him well enough to say "hey, how's it going," and so forth.
TNP has his or her eye on quite a few good-looking colleagues these days.
Not too many colleagues, as such, but I had lunch last week with a very cute acquaintance who's in the same profession as me.
TNP has a cousin named Berend (as I do).
Not at all. All of my cousins have Anglo first names or some creative variants in the Afro-American custom. Anyway, aren't you supposed to be married with children? Stop perving on your "acquaintances."! Zipper up!
TNP is probably not going to stop enjoying the company of the desired sex. Whatever it may be. In my case, I wouldn't enjoy life too much without talking to women, and looking at them, and thinking about them. That may make me a pervert, but at least I'm honest about it.
Definitely. Yes, I am happily married with children, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate female beauty/charm when I see it. "Look, don't touch" is the rule.
TNP has not written "Zipper up!" before now.
Very true. The mello inspires me!
TNP generally enjoys life -- with all the extra-curriculars.
Definitely. I'm a very fortunate guy, all in all.
TNP has been to at least five foreign countries.
Not sure. Yeah, probably. I suppose Canada and Mexico can be included on the list.
TNP speaks a foreign language well.
No. I took four years of high school Spanish, hated every minute of it, and by now have forgotten most of it. If you parachuted me into the middle of Madrid, I might be able to get to the U.S. Embassy, but no promises.
TNP has been inside an embassy.
Yeah, I guess. A consulate might be technically an "embassy," in the sense of being sovereign territory. Not really sure
TNP should learn more Spanish, just for fun and games.
I suppose I should, but it's a verrrrrrrrrry low priority for me right now.
TNP has begun spring cleaning.
No, but I should. There's a horrible stench of rotting garlic and beans in my kitchen -- I should at least take the trash out before the skateboarder asshole neighbors fill up the dumpster with their stupid crap.
TNP hates renter neighbors.
Nah, it all just depends on the folks.
TNP has neighbours who sunbathe in bikinis.
No, I don't think I ever have.
TNP knows a girl who looks great in a bikini.
I know some I'd like to see in a bikini. Other than that, past tense only.
TNP has been to a wet t-shirt contest.
No, I never have! Seen 'em on TV news, though.
TNP has been interviewed for TV news.
Hell no. Oh wait, you probably meant for a good reason, not in cuffs outside a courthouse. That neither.
TNP has never had a partner who farted (audibly) during sex.
False. It happened once.
TNP avoids certain foods because of the greater risk of farts.
Yeah, I have to cut down on beans if I'm not used to eating a lot of them. It gets to be annoying to me, rather than funny, to be lying in bed late at night constantly farting. Perhaps there's a woman out there for me, though -- I could use her face as a filter.
TNP is having a hard time getting motivated today.
Yeah, kinda, but I got some good stuff done anyway. Got a meeting early tonight, and then an awards ceremony at my son's high school (we think he might be getting something).
TNP got a high school (or equivalent) award.
Prior to that, yeah. In HS? I was class president in high school, which is kind of an award, I guess, for being awesome. It was just I made the crowd laugh with a funny speech. Some achievements, sure, but I didn't enter contests or anything. No, I was a slacker in high school, just waiting to get out into the big world.
TNP is not a big fan of meetings/gatherings later in the day. Not at his or her best during them.
Generally true, but sometimes they're unavoidable.
TNP has an evening meeting scheduled in the next week.
Yeah, I guess tomorrow's seminar could count as a meeting. Despite there being an exam, it being late, I'll probably show up half-drunk or tired beyond belief. I'm offended!
TNP has heard one half (or whatever) of a completely idiotic phone conversation today.
No, but I couldn't help glancing at a woman's texting as she sat right beside me in a concert hall.
TNP has been to a live concert in the last week.
Nah, no in the past month.
TNP has an odd hobby.
Hmmm. No, I don't think so. Unless juggling stoats counts.
TNP has juggled stoats.
What is a stoat? I can juggle tennis balls, I can "juggle" a soccer ball on my feet. Not sure about stoats.
TNP is looking forward to the weekend.
Yeah TGIF. Did a poor showing at my exam this PM, but had some amusing conversations on public transpo this PM.
I think these may not be mosquitos but "mosquito hawks" that are plaguing me.
TNP shared a bottle of booze with a hobo today.
There's this crazy thing the kids these days are calling "Wikipedia": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stoat
In play:
I've shared bottles of booze before, one glass at a time, but never with a hobo.
TNP dressed as a hobo for Halloween at least once.
Yeah, I think when I was about four or five. Had a plastic cigar and everything.
TNP has half a mind to go tussle with these hooligans making all kinds of noise with aluminum baseball bats over here. Would probably end poorly for he or she, so thinks better of it. Fucking punks. ETA "glass"? Wow, you have some classy hobos out east! I was just talking about straight out of the jug!
Haha, he's alright, he's cool. We all have our moments.
EH has a moment of being a giant weener.
He likes Hugh Grant.
Haha I had to laugh. Elendil's Giant Weener haha.
OK I'm assuming TNP is "Who is a giant puss"? To which I can answer "Not me! Because the Jewish grad student chose to sit in front of me today, and she doesn't look all that fugly close up, and she must be warm for my form if she chose that seat on purpose."
TNP thinks sexing > socializing.
Actually she looks great to me -- big brown eyes, plenty smart, blouse full of goodies.
I'm not sure what else.
TNP is going to try to get some strange this week.
I'm so glad I deleted my other comments The bigger the *&%ter.
But back on topic: yes, I did enjoy my day today.
TNP is really going to make an effort in the future to get to know those kind of appealing people in the near future. Probably a good idea
No, probably not. I'm quite busy being priggish, y'know.
TNP will be traveling out of town this weekend.
No, not going anywhere.
TNP forgot it was a Holiday weekend in the states. And TNP should have made some moves on a girl before it was too late.
I meant to keep track of this American holiday, but was distracted by my friend Google.
TNP uses a search engine other than Google.
Yeah, I use "bing" all the time.
TNP's heart almost aches, though, for not having picked up this woman. I mean, we're in the same small logic seminar, and she obviously knows me, and we're probably pretty close in age. Dammit. Who knows what we could have done for each other, taken slow and having some good conversations? People are big babies, me included. Could have made a nice friend. Instead, I just am friends with all the male autistics.
Imma vote your little kvetch is true. Have a go, you mug.
TNP likes Guinness.
And TNP is not that keen on having a bunch of male friends -- yes, I like friends, but being close friends with women is somehow better. You get a different perspective. Of course, you can't really punch them in the face trying out boxing moves, or knee them in the crotch over beers, and you have to make sure they aren't menstruating when in bear country, but a good woman > a good buddy any day.
eta: Yeah, I'd never turn down a Guinness.
TNP likes Irish expatriate bars/pubs
ETA true. Good thing about expat pubs is they're dark and quiet, usually. Uh oh. I think you made EH go away and cry, spitzer. Apologize, young man!
TNP had too much to drink yesterday. But will soon make up for it today with internet porn and more booze.
Dark, quiet, and moist. We're talking about Irish bars, after all.
Nah, can't remember the last time I drank too much. Funny, it used to be kind of a hobby.
TNP likes whiskey. A lot.
(EH is a big boy, Jizz. I think he'll pull through).
I used to slug (cheap) whiskey straight from the bottle. Now I enjoy the odd glass of good whiskey with a nice meal.
TNP has listened to a BB King song recently.
Sure. "Thrill is gone" (the studio version). How very mature of you, spitz! Drinking responsibly is a must! Not.
TNP thinks "take no prisoners" is a pretty good motto.
No, it's kind of weak.
TNP often rolls his or eye eyes or raises an eyebrow when sitting perfectly alone. His or her face is probably going to get stuck in one of those poses.
No, when I'm alone my expression is almost always neutral.
(And yes, I'm fine, thanks. Been traveling and didn't get to a computer today until just now).
TNP has been to Boston in the past year.
