Mostly they were bewildered by the event and its aftermath, and moved back to Indonesia as soon as possible afterward - due both to fear and anti-Islamic sentiment that reigned shortly after 9/11.

Well, within half an hour's drive of one, yes, when I lived in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. Some Amish people were (very unwillingly) caught up in a child custody dispute that I was tangentially involved in, and during the trial stayed in the home of a lawyer I knew. He later told me that the thing that most surprised him about them was how much they loved loved loved orange juice! They knocked it back like it was going out of style. Guess they didn't get much on the farm.
