I think watching those horse races would make me pretty uncomfortable, actually. I guess it'd be better than competing in them, though. :D

You know, I'm not sure why I love these books, but I do.
Would you prefer to be asked less "personal" questions in your post-padding thread?
Lighten up Francine, you're not the type I like to stalk.
How is this thread not the biggest thread on Mello ever yet?
What do we think everyone has been doing besides posting?
Personally, I've been working. And, HOLY SHIT I'M POSTING FROM A NOOK!!!!
Is it particularly strenuous posting from a nook?
It's different! There's a lot of scrolling involved, and there's a lag between typing a letter and seeing it appear on the reader screen. It does seem that the B&N tech heads have been playing with the web browser, though. It's working a lot faster and more smoothly.
Do you recommend the Nook over other e-readers? I was thinking of getting one someday, but I want it to be able to read .pdf files from your computer and have other fun functionality. Of course, my phone is like a tablet so I can read stuff on there, but the acrobat reader won't read some .pdf's my desktop will.
Well, the Nook doesn't have a zoom feature for PDFs yet (though they'll probably shoot that to us as soon as they figure out how to interface it with the e-ink), but it will generally read PDFs and ePub format books. B&N has a pretty substantial eBook library, and the prices are reasonable. I could go on. This is totally what I get paid to talk about.
I'm so tapped out of unnecessary questions today. Give me one, please?
Would you rather be left alone with a randomly selected Catholic Priest or a random teacher? (Don't worry, we've taken the random fashion photographer off the menu. Some things are just too cruel.)
How should I get my last 9 posts I need to get to 500?
Why am I so tired?
Because, you wake up too damn early.
I am about to start reading Catching Fire, the second book in the Hunger Games trilogy, for the second time. Zuul told me I had to finish rereading the first two books before I could read the third one.
Well, I hear you have a new haircut: Will we get to see it?
Wow! My brain is fuzzy!
Strange guy at work (not the one I mentioned in the Retail thread) keeps making random comments at me. Before, he told me how awesome I was (Thanks, I guess?) and today, he told me I was much nicer than the "girl at the desk." Now, there were two women at the info desk, and they're both perfectly nice people. I'm just really confused by this.
Gale or Peeta?
Peeta. I think, at the end of the day, he and Katniss balance eachother in a way that Gale and Katniss would never be able to manage.
Okay. So, I told the woman who runs the digital department that I thought it might be off putting to some people to break down her Nook events by gender (She's got a "Download Diva" night and a "Load Your E-Locker" night scheduled). She asked what I'd do, and I suggested genres. Mystery, Thriller, Romance, and SciFi/Fantasy. Well, because she knows nothing about Fantasy or SciFi, she asked me if I just wanted to run it.
Uh...yes!
So, in early November, I will be running "Nook into the Future (Or, the Past, or What Might be the Present)."
Dude! I sliced the fuck out of my finger on a Coke can.
How did you manage that?
My step-mom takes the flip tabs off soda cans to the Ronald McDonald House, and I was over at her house for dinner. Was pulling the tab, got part of the can, and sliced my finger right along the knuckle. Didn't hurt too badly (I don't always feel cuts or needle pokes), but the bleeding was...worrisome.
When was the last time you ate peanut butter?
Last night, technically! Peanut butter M&Ms are, quite frankly, awesome.
So do you have enough padding, or do you need some more?
There's never enough padding! Never, I say! NEVER!!!!!!!
Is your goal to eventually out-post me?
Well, I probably can't do that if you keep posting. But, breaking a thousand would be nice, and breaking more than that would be nicer.
So how do you feel about this?: http://joemygod.blogspot.com/2010/10...iller-app.html
It's an interesting idea. Not sure I'd call it a "bookstore killer."
Rowling or Pratchett - who is the better author.
Haven't read enough Pratchett to make an informed decision, though I do have a deep and abiding love for Rowling's books.
Do you love me? :(
I have a deep and abiding like for you, but I'm not sure I know you well enough for love. :)
I totally found my old Formspring account ( http://www.formspring.me/Marsilia ). That shit was fun, yo!
