No. He's the Hot Pockets guy, I think. Isn't that a conflict of interest?
TNP thinks Youtube is great, but will never give up local copies of content.
-
True.
TNP has driven more than two hours today.
-
No. But I did recall today what an excellent ("reckless" to the uninformed) driver I am when there's slim chance of getting a ticket.
TNP uses cruise control whenever possible.
-
Now and then; mostly just on looooong trips.
TNP's first car didn't have cruise control.
-
True, it barely had steering.
TNP likes red velvet cake.
-
Yes, I do! Just had some on Sunday, as it happens.
TNP knows at least three vegans.
-
Never had it. I've heard of it, for partial credit. The name is kind of frightening.
TNP would prefer one's mate to be either exigent, or contemptuous, or both.
-

Got sniped by the EH. I guess I've known three vegans. Not sure if that counts, because I don't know if they're dead or meat-eaters now. Pretty sure I know one or two in my active pile.
TNP thinks a nicotine gum that tastes like leather, whiskey, meat, blood, and metal would be a pretty good idea.
-
Ew, no, thanks.
TNP chews gum at least twice weekly.
-
I do chew gum now, because apparently it's difficult to stare at a bag of tobacco without stuffing something in my gob. I should go back to chewing on matchsticks -- they may taste like piss, but at least it's not gum.
TNP thinks crawling along the edge of a straight razor has never used a straight razor for anything.
-
Not personally, although my barber uses a straight razor on the back of my neck when I get a haircut. The warm shaving cream and the scrape of the blade across my skin is oddly pleasing.
TNP also has a sensual pleasure that others might find odd.
-
The smell of my meal before I eat it. People often comment how odd it is that I wait a few seconds, taking in the delicious aroma, before I start eating.
TNP cares very fucking little what people think of them.
-
I care a lot. If some fool disrespects me and my awesomeness, that clown be going down. In my delusion-riddled, frontal-lobe-damaged brain awesomeness, that is.
TNP thinks wide post-its are special, and reserves their use for special things.
-
Post-its are basically (if used outside of an office situation) for people who have given up on life.
TNP like Jarlsberg.
-
Don't think I've ever had it.
TNP has seen Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None on stage (as I did last night).
-
Nope. Never heard of it, actually. (Not as a play, anyway).
TNP noticed Wikipedia's fund-raising banner today and had the first laugh of the day.
-
No, missed that.
TNP has seen the first Rose Garden rap: http://www.cnn.com/2016/03/14/politi...yle/index.html
-
Nope. Never heard of it, and now that I have, I don't think I want to hear it. I don't much like roses, anyway.
TNP has today, or recently, seen a kid's show (for example, *Dinosaur Train*) and approves.
-
Hmm. No, not recently. Probably the last thing that would qualify was a SpongeBob episode a few weeks back.
TNP has a favorite SpongeBob SquarePants character.
-
No, I missed the whole Spongebob craze. I know what Spongebob looks like, and I think there's a crab character, but that's pretty much it.
TNP will take long walks in the rain, but isn't super stoked about it.
-
No, if I'm going to be out in the rain, I prefer to keep my exposure relatively brief. I'll take a walk in the rain, but not a long walk.
TNP needs a new umbrella.
-
Hell no. I love my Totes with the wood handle (maybe it's just wood veneer, or whatever, but close enough), and it works like a champ. It's big enough for one person, but not quite as big for maximum coverage, which is the only drawback (aside from the chintzy quality of the wood handle, but I don't care about that too much). Black is beautiful, baby.
TNP has had a few cups of free coffee at a waiting room recently, and didn't approve of its quality. (ETA and yet....drank four cups)
-
Nah, haven't had waiting room coffee in a long time -- not because I haven't been waiting, but no coffee.
TNP is wondering if there's a scientific basis for spring fever.
-
Now that you mention it, yeah, I suppose I do. The human mind is capable of just about anything, and every one is just a bit different.
TNP has seen The Man with Two Brains.
-
I think on TV when I was a kid. Probably be a good one .... wait, yes, I remember that from not too long ago. Still, probably a good one to pull out for some laughs.
TNP thinks it is not very sexist to explain away lady behavior by their susceptibility to peer influence.
-
Eh. Kinda sexist. There are plenty of dudes susceptible to peer influence.
TNP is very resistant to peer influence.
-
High degree of conformity. I have a strong aversion to anyone who acts, and, presumably thinks, they're special. Unfortunately, there's a problem there: most people in my age cohort think they're the tits' balls and behave incorrectly, maybe as a result of their incorrect thinking.
TNP is not in love with the idea of "taking a class" to learn something. For example, one dude I know thought my suggestion that he learn differential equations by just working through a textbook somewhat ridiculous.
-
Not "in love," no, but if it's something I'm utterly unfamiliar with and complex enough that I doubt I can master it on my own, I'm likely to take a class.
TNP has taught a class in the past five years.
-
No, it's been way longer than that.
TNP is waiting for an opportunity to use the phrase "chained to a truck bumper" in real life.
-
Eagerly. Avidly.
TNP has chained a stuffed animal to a truck bumper at least twice.
-
God damnit no, never.
TNP is in a mood to hog-tie someone IRL. TNP is thinking the play *The Misanthrope* is pretty fucking good. It really can't be translated -- what with rhyming alexandrines and stuff, but it's pretty much fucking perfect. Alceste is awesome./
-
Don't know it well enough to have an opinion.
TNP knows French plays pretty well.
-
Yeah, I guess. Like ghetto French -- good enough to hang out in cafes drinking beer.
TNP has been permanently 86ed from numerous bars
-
No, never had the pleasure.
TNP has been to a film festival in the past year.
-
(About that last: actually, you may not believe this, but it kind of makes you feel like a loser. So, not a pleasure, really.)
No, I can't remember the last time I've been to a film festival.
TNP has seen a movie outdoors lately, on a real screen with other people.
-
No, not outdoors, not in a long time.
TNP has seen a film with subtitles in the past month.
-
Does it count if I couldn't find the subtitles? I just had a late, drunken evening and watched *Cycling with Molie`re* three or four days ago or so. I'm convinced it's one of the best movies I've ever seen, although I really liked it a lot before. I think it's better than I recall, by like a lot. I know I missed some of the nuances without subtitles, nor having yet had my copy of *The Misanthrope* to follow along. OTOH, it's almost better to just sort of watch without subtitles, even if the 17th Century French kind of goes over your head.
TNP has got some self-help stuff figured out recently, of the sort, like "don't take everything so personally," or "chill out!" Bonus points if you imagine Birdman talking to you.
-
Sort of. My church had a "developing a rule of life" forum based on monastic devotion; it was moderately helpful.
TNP loves solo classical piano recordings like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrlBtZlCIfk.
-
Yeah, the Op. 90 is not one I know very intimately, but it's very pianistic.
TNP doesn't feel ashamed one bit for indulging himself or herself in some nice music every now and again. Maybe not ennobling, but there's worse things to send one's time doing.
-
Not ashamed in the least. Life without music is hardly worth living.
TNP has a decent singing voice.
-
No, people have accused me of being tone death and God knows what.
TNP likes singing anyway.
-
True. I get the occasional compliment in church for my singing but haven't been in a choir since I was a kid.
TNP goes to church about once a month.
-
No. I never ever go to church -- I think they'd probably kick me out of there as well, probably for heresy or something. Yes, I know it's a mortal sin to not celebrate mass weekly, but somehow I just never connected up with a parish I like here. Also, nominally atheist, but with an absurd degree of veneration for the universal church, and, indeed, the linguistic metaphor at the core of Christianity.
TNP believes in a few contradictions central to his or her inner life that would be puzzling to explain.
-
Hmmm. No, I think I'm pretty consistent about that kind of thing.
TNP prefers ice-skating to swimming, all in all.
-
I suppose. Haven't been skating since maybe once when I was a kid. I'd rather watch a hockey game than a swimming event either of which beat watching figure skating, though.
TNP had a lovely afternoon today.
-
Yeah, it was pretty good. Work wasn't too hard, I had a nice dinner out and then two movies (both good) at the local intl. film festival.
TNP has a dog sleeping within earshot.
-
I guess theoretically it COULD be within earshot (downstairs neighbor), and combined with the dogs a few hundred yards away and the hyenas (haven't heard them in a while, but they're pure delight compared to the noise of "HERE BOY! HI FIFI! COME ON REX! woof" Pukey smiley. Although me and my two oldest nephews did pass on the trail the sweetest yellow lab -- his owner mentioned "he just brushed up against you hoping for a petting," and it was true. I don't think I've seen a sweeter dog.
TNP is wondering WTH happened to TROJAN KID!!!!!!
-
Yes, I am a bit, come to think of it.
Our yellow Lab is pretty sweet. Don't have a picture on my laptop, but he looks almost exactly like this: http://www.allergendetectionserviced...b-headshot.jpg
TNP has big weekend plans.
-
Well, you're looking at it! Just helped my mother pick up some gravel and big long sticks and other heavy stuff at Home Depot and now am taking a well-earned short break from digging holes. I think I owe her a favor or something, because I'm not cut out for manual labor. Too lazy, and my method of solving tasks (divideand-conquer) doesn't play well with other inferior methods.
TNP is, has, or will be drinking coffee today.
