It took 15 days and is roughly the size of Manhatten, but this stunning piece of artwork in the Black Rock Desert, Nevada is worth a look.

Amazing!
I love this.
The farmers must be stepping up their security in the crop fields!
I'm not usually big on large-scale art in the wilderness but this is actually pretty nice. I don't think it should be extended to Mars, though.
Now I've got a Belinda Carlisle song stuck in my head.
(...and now you do too)
I get bored sometimes too.
That is seriously incredible. It makes me think of the ancient images man carved into the planet, when art wasn't made to be sold or for publicity, but as some aspect of calling down the gods. "Look at us!" it cries, "We're here!"
Well... at least it's not a big smiley face or "F*K U RICHIE."
I look forward to other groups with 4x4s dragging huge rolls of chain fencing, plowing more enormous gashes across our scenic desert ecosystems in competeing attempts to set the newest record for "Biggest Artwork." Hell, pretty much anyone with a four-wheeler and a few days to waste can sculpt their own visible-from-space monument! This is a great idea. BYOB!
