Don't drink the lemonade

Fentiman's Traditional Victorian Lemonade contains less than 0.5% alcohol due to the process by which it is made.

Apparently, one young child went to the headmaster of his school and pointed out his soft drink contained alcohol. The headmaster, being a wise and knowing chap, contacted the police who contacted the licencing authorities.

The Puritans in the state of Maine would now like to classify this drink as an immoral thing and prevent it being sold to anyone under the age of 21.

He is the same child who tells the tuck shop lady that she has been selling the Wagon Wheels for half their normal price, just before I am about to buy one.

Well just imagine if the kid was able to suck down 25 of those lemonades in a row in an hour span. He'd be drunk as hell. Bloated, but drunk.

I was under the impression that, at least typically, things with less than 0.5% alcohol don't count as alcoholic beverages. Maybe that's only in this state. There's plenty of things (non-alcoholic beer and fresh fruit juice, for instance) that can have a very small but measurable alcohol content. I'm surprised that it's even a legal matter here.

But Exy....think of the children! We all have to change the way we live and the things we do so some precious snowflake doesn't sully themselves by association with our heathen, blasphemous existance.

I'm wondering how the lemonade ended up in a High School in Maine...there doesn't seem to be a retailer closer than Rhode Island.

And this doesn't seem like the kind of thing a school would serve on its own so either the annoying kid brought it to school himself or he was given it by a friend or something.
