Info about Scrubs upcoming season
The following information about the upcoming 9th season of the ABC hit/cult show Scrubs has been confirmed as absolute truth. You don't believe me, you can suck it. And then lick it.
1) The new season will see the show switch from being set at Sacred Heart Hospital to a medical School, with Dr. Cox and Turk as Med School Professors.
2)There will be 18 episodes in season 9.
3)The show will stay single camera and will be shot on a studio lot in Culver City, CA.
4)Zach Braff (JD) will make guest appearences n the first six episodes for a transitional phase.
5)Sarah Chalke (Elliot) confirmed on Fox & Friends that she is coming back for the 9th season, but no word yet on how many episodes she will be in. Rumors are that she, like Braff will be in 6 episodes.
6) Judy Reyes (Carla) and Ken Jenkins (Kelso) will be making guest appearences, number to be determined. Reyes is pregnant in real life.
7)Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence will still be involved with the show.
8)The 9th season of Scrubs will start airing in the late fall/early winter, as a semi-replacement show.
9)Neil Flynn (Janitor) has a new show The Middle which means that as of now he won't be appearing in the 9th season of Scrubs.
10)Last seasons season finale episode My Finale is seen by Bill Lawrence as the series finale of Scrubs.
11)There will be a new big name star/guest star, producers of Scrubs reportedly want Lauren Graham.
12)Crista Miller (Jordan Sullivan) will still be able to appear as her show Cougartown is being shot next door.
13)Eliza Coupe (Denise/Jo) is being considered for a possible return for the 9th season.
14)There will probably be a name change to distinguish it from Scrubs but Scrubs will still (probably) be part of the title.
15)All of the med students will be new cast members.

Sweet! I'm actually behind a season on Scrubs, so thank you for not making the OP spoilery. (Not that I care too much, or I wouldn't have opened the thread, duh.) I hope they can continue making entertaining/funny/moving stories with a change in cast and venue. I have faith, really I do.

Curious as to how you feel about season 5 6. Bill Lawrence has said those seasons are where many fans and he himself thought there was way too much stoner humor and the show got too cartoony. Last season, season 8 was seen by critics and fans as a return to the early "good" seasons of Scrubs.

What does that mean, "stoner" humor? I don't remember a lot of references to weed on Scrubs.
Re: Info about Scrubs upcoming season
While I agree that the last season of Scrubs was decidedly different than the preceding one or even two seasons, it did not even resemble the first season to me. I still regard the first season as by far the best and still watch it over and over on DVD. Scrubs has, sadly, sucked in my opinion for the last three seasons - although season six still was good enough to watch every week. I only kept watching seasons 7 & 8 because I had already invested so much time in it  and because there were glimpses every now and then of its old self.
IMO, it started dying when Kim entered the picture. It might have helped if there had even ever been any chemistry between the two. And the lack of chemistry was caused by the fact that, IMO, Elizabeth Banks can't do "goofy yet still endearing" so the result was that I was left thinking "wow, in real life these two wouldn't even have noticed each other".
All that being said, being that Turk was always my favorite character, I'll definitely give the new show a chance. But I will wonder how much of what I liked about Turk was only there while he could play off JD.
