How do animals with very sensitive hearing not become overwhelmed by noises, such as thunderstorms, traffic etc.?
How do animals with very sensitive hearing not become overwhelmed by noises, such as thunderstorms, traffic etc.?
I've observed that most animals are pretty 'skittish' (i.e. frightened or startled by loud noises) and will either bolt or try to hide when confronted with overwhelming noise(s).
What makes you think they aren't?
