Would you pose nude?

We just had an assignment in photography to take nude photos (with an alternate assignment choice). I found it interesting that two of my classmates were really nervous on behalf of their models (who were their spouses. I don't know if that makes a difference). My teacher asked the guys who would pose nude and very few responded, but didn't bother to ask the ladies.

I would, and did (I photographed myself).

So, would you? And add in your age and location. Assume, art photography, not explicit, with the photographer leaving out anything you wish (faces, breasts, personal bits, etc.).

Without any financial inducement?

No, never. (Well, not without a serious amount of cash, I guess.)

Yeah, I'd do it - as long as I could trust that the pictures wouldn't end up all over the internets, that is.

I have, about 10 years ago, for a calendar of "Naked Zinesters." No, I don't have the pic. It's hideous - 275 pounds (at the time) of nastiness. Picture a wet sack of flour...

Excalibre, I'd feel just as ridiculous posing clothed, so I really don't see any reason not to.

Which is not to say that I expect any one would want to see me posed nude.

I don't see why not. Under my clothes I'm an aesthetic abomination, but that's their problem, not mine. I'd do it for free, but for, say, $20 I would not hesitate.

I have posed for nude photographs. I posted them over on the SDMB. If I were in better shape, I would pose for more.

A lot of the models people used wanted their faces left out. My pictures were just of body parts (my feet, my hips, my legs). I've done life drawing, and some of the models weren't 'perfect' - over 40, wrinkly, saggy. It's just flesh to me, and the less perfect models can be more interesting to draw or photograph.

Sure I like making people laugh.

For non-photographic art (sketch, painting, sculpture, etc), sure.

Photographs... maybe. Problem is that I have too many co-workers who would act like complete dicks about it until the end of time.

I'm trans (Female-To-Male), and it was part of a photo project by another trans person, who took pic of various individuals, trans or not, various genders and sexes, and we all wrote something to go along the pics, about gender in general and/or how it was relating to ourselves.
It has been exposed on the net and at various french lgbt festivals.
I figured pretty much all folks would be slim and/or toned so I voluntereed to show my flabby, a bit chubby, self.

Anyone who answers "Yes," and would be willing to put themselves to the trouble of matching words to deeds, I am actually painting a series of nude studies in oils (on inappropriate pieces of clothing, if you care) which I'd be glad to show you samples of if you're interested in seeing what my finished work looks like, and would happily engage some new models.

These haven't (so far) included my models' faces, so this is kinda safe for those concerned about too much exposure. They're basically nude torsos (front view or rear view) that extend very little up or down (a few partial legs, some bits of hand or arm, but basically the range is from ribcage to mid-thigh, usually less.) If you're serious, PM me and I'll let you know more. If you're serious and a bit of an exhibitionist, post in this thread and I'll answer you here.

ETA: Oh, and I'm particularly interested in imperfect bodies, which means NO SUPERMODELS, PLEASE. If you've got a little flab, or sag, or scars, or moles or whatever, you are welcome to pose. I'm not looking for freaks, OTOH, but am looking for human bodies--most of mine so far are of taut young specimens and I want to branch out a little.

I’ve been on the artist’s side of figure drawing classes enough to be OK with being the model in that environment, but I’d be very concerned about my ability to keep my supporting cast calm and relaxed :? .

I'd probably pass out from sucking in my stomach for the whole time, but yeah, I'd do it.

I voted no, but I have taken "artistic" nude photos of myself for my husband's pleasure. The only copies are a hard-copy "book" that I printed and made nice for him, and one copy on CD, hidden by me, in a place no one else knows about, including him. It was a Christmas present. No one but he and I have ever seen them, and that's the way it will stay.

I suppose for different people, the line is in different places. For me it's very clear: no explicit genitalia shots and no skin-mag style posing.

I'm actually skinnier and in better shape than I have been in years, but still probably no. It just seems weird to me. Plus I hate sitting in one place for more than five minutes at a time so I wouldn't make a very good "model".

It's funny, I'm a breast man, when I'm with someone or watching some quality internet vids, but in nude art I'm always drawn towards a woman's hips and legs.

Closer to seriousness, how exactly do you know that anyone purporting to be a serious artist isn't just in it for the voyeuristic kicks?

Even closer, you're welcome to see a series of nude studies (and other works) of mine, which should at least assure you that I've gone to a hell of a lot trouble to provide cover for my true perverted goals, making me a dedicated perv at the very least, and an actual painter at best.

Yeah, I would. Especially if I could have final say as to what was published, and it leaned much more to the arty than the porn. I'm pretty ok with naked, but not particularly an exhibitionist. Rather I am really comfortable in my own skin.

I've done nudes in various media, as anyone who met me in 2000 could tell you.

I'll have the wife take some torso shots tonight if she's up to it. No significant flab (I'm the guy everyone hates -- I eat whatever and don't look like it), but my hairiness leaves something to be desired.

Have I? Yes.

I spent a semester in college working as a nude model for a couple of art classes. It paid better than other jobs, there was no nasty polyester uniform to wear, and if the pose was long enough, I could nap. Plus, the students liked me because I was also an art student and knew what poses to hold.

I'd even consider doing it again, if I could have a space heater nearby.

I said no, but only because I'm assuming it is for a photograph and the photograph could end up on the internet.

Posing for a class of art students? Sure, no problem.

I already have, though the pictures haven't been seen by anybody. I'm keeping them in reserve in case I ever deicde to quick faffing about and destroy human civilization.

For art, and I'm pretty liberal on what I'm willing to consider art, sure, without hesitation. I'm a 26 year old man from the northeastern US. I'd prefer my face at least be positioned in a way that it's not readily identifiable (or, if we're talking about drawings or paintings, not too realistically rendered), but that would be my only request. In fact, I would not only agree to do it, but I have done it, first in the SDMB thread (inserting myself into male nude classical art), and after having such a fun time with that, I started a blog along the same lines and did it a few dozen more times. I'll link to it if there's any interest.

As for unabashed pornography, that's a very-firm-(yes-ha-ha)-but-not-absolutely-set-in-stone no.

Is everyone here aware of the Human Variation Project? The owner seems to have abandoned it, but it was very interesting while it was operational. It was a blog that invited ordinary un-model-like people to submit nude photos of themselves.

There's also ErectionPhotos.com. Same idea, but with the focus narrowed on penises, particularly on their various angles and curvatures.

Sure.. 23 M here. Not exactly the most muscle bound guy out there but I think I'm comfortable with my body enough. It'd have to have some meaning..
