Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
Here's a link to a boycott of Pepsi products: www.boycottpepsico.com/
I suggest we buy Pepsi products - I don't drink soda, but I'll support Pepsi as long as these bigots are boycotting. I'm disgusted by the American Family Association.
Here's a link to a product page: www.pepsico.com/?or=pusa.1067

Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
For extra fun, do what I do... buy Pepsi products, and mail the bar codes to the American Family Association.

Oooh, I like that! We're going shopping tomorrow anyway. Time to stock up on Pepsi products!
-
Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
Diana, that's brilliant! I'm on board!
-
Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
I don't know if it's still true, but PepsiCo used to own Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and KFC, so if you eat there, you'll still be supporting the company. I almost always drink Pepsi, simply because it's usually cheaper than Coke (have a diet Pepsi right in front of me, as a matter of fact).

Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
It's funny, I was just reading their Wiki page this morning and saw that Pepsi got harassed and threatened by the KKK in the 1940's for running marketing campaigns targeted at black consumers. Some things never change.

Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
We are now going to switch from Coke Zero to Pepsi One at our house.
A single calorie for justice!
-
Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
Pepsi owns Frito Lay too (my husband works there) so eat your chips! They're good for you!
-
Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
A list of PepsiCo brands.
It includes Dole, Tropicana, and Ocean Spray juices, Lipton Iced Tea, Starbucks bottled drinks, SoBe, and Amp, in addition to all the sodas.
And hey, Frito-Lay owns Miss Vickies! And Quaker owns Near East!
You buy this stuff already, right? Save those barcodes! Mail ginormous manila envelopes FULL of them!

Reasons for the boycott
AFA asked Pepsi to remain neutral in the culture war, but the company refused — choosing to support the homosexual activists.
Quote:
What about Coke? Don't they do some of the same things?
AFA's boycott efforts are currently being focused on PepsiCo, asking them to remain neutral in the culture war.
Fuck neutrality.
I now declare all marriage and all sex, of all forms, to be unsavoury and evil.
[sits back and watches the neutrality flow]

Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
Ugh. I absolutely hate diet pepsi. I am 100% addicted to Diet Coke. i'll have to support them elsewise.

Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
Pepsi's contributing to a number of good causes in the US. On the other hand, Pepsi's been accused of a lot of bad practices in their overseas operations. (So has Coca-Cola.) I guess they're ambiguously evil.

I believe Pepsi's overall cause can be summed up quite neatly; "What will make us the most money?". If the amount of people willing to boycott Pepsi products was a more appreciable size, i'm sure they'd be pandering to that crowd the next day.

Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
The key is to incorporate Pepsi products into romantic same-gender activities. These activities should then be video taped for the benefit of the AFA.
Video segment suggestions:
A collection of first kisses, followed up by breath-freshening swirls of Sierra Mist or Mug cream soda.
A post-coital stroll to the nearby Beer 'n Smokes for an invigorating shared can of Amp.

Same here. I could be talked into eating Fritos, though. I can always be talked into eating Fritos.

I didn't even know homosexuals had an agenda?! I thought they were all too busy with the promiscuous sex and the parades?

What do you think are items #1 and #2 on the agenda?
-
Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
Before you start switching brands, be aware that Coca-Cola is on the 100% pro-homosexual companies list. I guess the AFA haven't heard this yet. Maybe spending your life in a spittle-flinging rage gets in the way of your research abilities.
Oh, wait, I didn't read the site closely enough - the site I linked to is another anti-homosexual group (I guess the point still stands, though - if people who make it their business to figure out who is pro-gay and who isn't think Coke is pro-gay, that works for this thread).
Now you have to decide which brand to boycott - the American Family Association bigots or the Americans for Truth about Homosexuality bigots.

A felony law on brown shoes with black belts and having the national anthem changed to "It's Raining Men"?

Don't be silly. That's why we have RC Cola in the south.

Simple to resolve. Send your Coke barcodes to the AFTAH people and the Pepsi barcodes to the AFA people.

Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
Interesting to note that AFA is targeting Pepsi for contributing to the fight against Proposition 8. IIRC, another division of the Bigot Brigade was fighting to keep the names of Prop 8 supporters secret. I guess a side order of hypocrisy goes well with bigotry or something.

Perfect!
"Hypocrisy goes better with bigotry!" - hmm, just doesn't have the same ring.
-
Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
Talk about a perfect balance...I've got an 8-can-a-day Pepsi One habit, and a deep and abiding loathing for the AFA!
-
Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
This is all well and good for you people, but what about us total nonconsumers of Pepsi, Coca-Cola and every other kind of sugary fizzy thing out there? Do we start drinking awful unhealthy beverages for the sake of the gay?
-
Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
Well, at least there's always Country Time Lemonade. Not too tart, and not too queer.

Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
Wait... wait.. hold on a minute. Somehow Pepsi got a bunch of dumb gays to buy their products in protest? What in the world? I must find a way to do this for my own company.

Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
I used the AFA form to send a letter to Campbell's protesting their obvious promotion of the homosexual agenda with their homoerotic Chunky Soup advertisements, but no one ever responded and I got added to the AFA's spam list. So don't do that, I think the AFA previews letters for sarcasm before sending them on.

You could buy me a case of Diet Pepsi! :D

Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
I want my caffeine-free Pepsi, dammit!!!
(I'll have to ask my doctor if it's okay to try switching back to a little bit of caffeine a day. Then I can go back to my Pepsi Jazz. I miss it.
-
Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
I applaud Pepsi for their stance, but fuck them for their bullshit. They recently switched their 24-pack cases to 18-pack cases - and they're the same price! I may buy 2-liters, but I'm done with cans.

Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
Just to play devil's advocate.. Are we sure that website is for real?
I could probably toss something like that together in a day or two.. some copy and paste from some legal work, some work in the paint program (not like they used photshop.. or even flash for presentation), a few youtube links and VOILA!
Every gay person in America will support Pepsi instead of Coca Cola for no reason other than a perceived massive amount of support from the Pepsico corporation.. Making them many many many many millions in sales for a few dollars spent on a website.
Hell, even if it is for real they've got a viral marketing campaign linked to a civil rights movement with purchasing power like none other.. Not that they have to care, or even would, they're a multinational organization looking for profit. Cha-fin'-ching for coming up with that crappy chunk of html.
Just devil's advocate.. but something to think about.

0.5 seconds of thought, 1.5 seconds of Google. ;)

Yes, but Google is in on it, you see.
Don't tell anyone.

Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
Which bit is Google in on? Pepsi or the gay agenda?
-
Re: Please Drink (or at least buy) Pepsi Products!
Both. Check out this site. Every time you see the word Pepsi or Pepsi-Cola, substitute the word gay. They've been a part of the agenda since 1919!

They're even fruitier than I thought.
"It Will Satisfy You"
"More Bounce to the Ounce"
"Join the Swing"
But that "AIDS Digestion" slogan is just bad taste.

While I wouldn't put it past Pepsi, or really any large company to try that sort of advertisement, just questioning it suggests you aren't really that familiar with the AFA. This sort of thing is basically all they do.
Peter LaBarbera, the guy that runs AFTAH is for real too. Dude's homo-obsessed. He goes to gay leather fetishist conventions every year to snap pics to post on his site as "proof of what the filthy homosexuals are up to". Every year! I wonder if the regulars know him and think of him as the creepy closet-case with the camera.

Well, as they say, the opposite of love is indifference. These guys do seem awfully interested in what teh hommasexshuls are up to.

You know...exactly.
Why the hell are the gender Nazis so damn interested in what gay couples are up to?
I have heard James Dobson thow veritable hissy fits on the issue of gay marriage...and to what end? To protect the sanctity of marriage?
My favorite statistic, and I couldn't locate the source quickly, is that self-identified Christian couples divorce at the same rate as non-Christians.
These guys have their own problems to worry about.

You did see that Tropicana is a Pepsi-Co brand? If you don't like OJ, there are other things you can consume as well.
The one problem I have with the plan to send barcodes to AFA is that I need those bar codes to redeem my plastic nickels. (Bottle deposits)

Ah, I've heard of them here and there but I've never seen any of their work, I wasn't sure if it was falsely connected to them.. I knew they were batshit crazy but didn't know just how batshit crazy.

As for AFA being batshit crazy, I go at it from the opposite direction. Any group that holds up the "family values" banner like that, I just assume they're crazy until proven otherwise. Because it's usually a good bet.

Sigh.
