What's your ringtone?
Right now I'm using the jazzy ending tune from the Jeeves & Wooster TV show. My phone vibrates first, so I don't get to hear the song unless my phone rings when it's in my purse.
Before this I was using the Linus & Lucy theme. I'm not really a fan of jazz, but it seems to work well for a ringtone.
My husband uses the Wallace & Gromit theme, which I also like.

Re: What's your ringtone?
Perhaps not surprisingly, the Rockford Files theme.
-
Re: What's your ringtone?
At the moment it's Train in Vain. I wanted Lost in the Supermarket, but it wasn't available from AT&T, and my phone is occasionally pissy about imported ring tones.

A section from the opening of Dramamine by Modest Mouse, after the spacey vibrato guitar kicks in.

Re: What's your ringtone?
I'm just using some generic AT&T ringtone right now. I should change it to "Everything's Alright."

My Speech & Debate kids, sure. It's the only way to communicate with me at some of the larger tournaments.

Oh okay. I was thinking you meant the "general population"...

Re: What's your ringtone?
For DH, it's the operatic version of "Spider Pig" from the Simpsons movie.
For calls with caller ID, "Tom Sawyer" by Rush.
For calls without caller ID, "Lights" by Journey.
Then some friends have their own - "London Calling" for the Clash fan, a Monty Python Scottish bit for a friend from my Scottish group, stuff like that.

For the record, as a thin but callipygian girl myself, I'd be amused as hell.

That's awesome.
I don't have a ringtone, I keep my phone on vibrate. I tend to listen to really loud music most of my waking hours and I miss calls if it's on an audio setting. I miss a lot of calls on vibrate too, since my car stereo can make it feel like my legs are set to vibrate, but that's what a bluetooth enabled phone is for.
However for those times that it's a better idea to have the phone on an audible setting I have a portion of Iron Maiden's Losfer Words (Big Orra) or the opening from Megadeth's Holy Wars.

Re: What's your ringtone?
I used to use part of Cake's version of "Mahna Mahna". I changed it over the weekend to part of "Manhattan Skyline" from Saturday Night Fever. It was that, or the intro to "Let It Whip" by Dazz Band.
-
Re: What's your ringtone?
Theoretically, the chorus of Million Miles from Home by Dune. ("I was sent to outer space to find another happy place; now, I'm left here, all alone, million miles from home.") However, I never turn my phone's ringer on. I just use the vibrate setting.
It's also my alarm to get up in the morning, though. I also have Doctor Jones by Aqua ("Doctor Jones, Jones, wake up now!") as an alarm, which is both appropriate and hilarious, but it's way too potentially embarrassing if it goes off at the wrong time. :P
ETA: It's also a huge inconvenience to put extra ringtones on the iPhone without paying for them, so I haven't done it in a very long time. I only have five.
-
Re: What's your ringtone?
I have Big Yellow Taxi set as my default ring, and Brown-Eyed Girl and Pachebel's Canon assigned to certain people, but I have my phone set to vibrate nearly all the time.
I'm thinking it was a waste to buy them. If I buy a new phone sometime, I doubt I'll even download any extra ringers.

Re: What's your ringtone?
The Doctor Who theme.
What else could it be?
-
Re: What's your ringtone?
Mine is set to the William Tell Overture, turned down very low.

She would get a kick out of it. It's a bit of an inside joke with us.

Re: What's your ringtone?
I have my ringtone set as the Imperial March from Star Wars. I have had the same one for about 3 phones now.
-
Re: What's your ringtone?
My general ringtone is "The Office" theme song.
I have a friend who drives me batshit by calling me at all hours of night needing advice that she never plans on taking to put back together her miserable life. She has a special ringtone- Crazy by Gnarls Barkley, as a warning to simply press my silence button to avoid a migraine.

whrrrrrrrrrrrr! <pause> whrrrrrrrrrrr!
I haven't heard a ringtone in almost five years - I keep my phone on vibrate 24/7. ;)

Same here, although it's probably on only a couple of hours a day, if I bother to turn it on at all.
I talk on the phone all day for work. Wanna call me? Call my home number (screened through answering machine), or better yet, send me an e-mail.

Re: What's your ringtone?
I keep three in rotation and switch them around as the mood strikes - right now it's either William Shatner screaming for Mr. Tambourine Man or the NEScover version of "The Final Coundown". The third is the intro to Heroes (Bowie, not Nickelback).
-
Re: What's your ringtone?
Generic Sprint ring-tone for everyone else, the theme from "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" for my husband. :D

At one point, my husband's ringtone was the "blah blah blah" one that came with my phone. He was rather offended when he found out.

Re: What's your ringtone?
Foo Fighters - The Pretender
I have the same ring for everyone cause I don't know how to change it.
-
Re: What's your ringtone?
Mine sounds like...wait for it...a phone ringing. Not a cell phone or an office phone or an orchestra or an elevator, but an old school analog Ma Bell phone. I heart it lots. And it gets more surprised looks and smiles than any of my friends' fancy arrangements. :D
-
Re: What's your ringtone?
Standard Verizon ringtone. I have a Verizon-crippled RaZR V3m and have tried many diff ways to put my music/tones on it through various software, patchcords and mini-sd disk, but all have failed. And I won't buy a monthly service to be able to buy a ringtone that I already own.

Re: What's your ringtone?
Something by Erik Satie that I can't remember the name of right now.
-
Re: What's your ringtone?
I have the outtro to Kanye's Love Lockdown.
I used to have a fabulous phone that when ex #1 called it would say "Call from: Son of a Bitch" and when ex #2 called it would say "Call from: Dastard"
Good times. Good times.

If only there was a way to set ex's ringtones to "silent", what a wonderful world it would be.

Re: What's your ringtone?
I bounced around a few different, but standard issue, ringtones for a while, but I have come to the realization that, in the construction industry, I never hear the phone ring, so I've just had it set to vibrate for the last few years. And shoved down my pants. (I wish someone would call me...)

Hey, that's what mine is, too! (When it's not set on vibrate that is. Then it just sounds like a giant humming bee attack.)

Considering I was legally obligated to answer the phone for them a reasonable percentage of the time I felt that the least I could do was let myself know if I was getting "stupid" or "mean".
Not so much of a problem anymore, though. :)

VIIIIIII-RUS ALERT! Delete Immediately Before Someone Gets Hurt!
Yeah, it's a bit annoying even to me ;)
I should change it, one of these days.

Touch and Go by Emerson, Lake, and Powell
Wife - The Gift by Tony Banks

Re: What's your ringtone?
My phone takes any uploaded MP3 and uses it as a ringtone, so right now I've got the opening section of Rammstein's "Moskau" (the bit where the girl goes '??? ????? ? ????? ???????? ?????? ? ????. ??????!' trans: 'This is song about the most beautiful city in the world. Moscow!').
