AGGGHHH! Why can't I connect to the Order of the Stick site?

I've been reading the incredibly awesome D&D webcomic "Order of the Stick" from Comic 1. Now I'm up to 218, and, after a lengthy nap in which my computer turned off somehow, and after wrangling with a shitty wireless network adapter, I can use Domebo just fine but can't seem to access that website.

I'm trying to get here: http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0218.html

and it keeps giving me a network timeout error. Which is really harshing my proverbial mellow, man.

Can anyone else get there? Is it just me?

I dunno. I got a timeout error but tried again and it went right to the comic.

I think Burlew has mentioned the unreliability of their server, so you're definitely not the only one who's run into problems.

Yeah, it often takes a few (a lot of) tries to get through. Seems to be traffic related, as I can usually get through in the mornings here (GMT+1), and I'd guess most of their traffic is from the US.

You just discovered OotS? Stick (!) with it, it keeps on getting better and better.

Yeah, I'm REALLY enjoying it. It's making my illness recovery time go by a lot faster!

Kinda leaves me jonesin' for some old-fashioned 3.5, though, or maybe even First Edition.

Tell me about it. Except for online, I've had none for eight years. :(

What, they haven't discovered D&D in Norfolk? Surely there's a game shop somewhere!

It is simply pure dungeon-crawling pleasure, there's no way I'd cut it short by skipping ahead!

I just discovered it yesterday myself. I'm up to ~70. I had to refresh numerous times on a lot of the comics to get them to go through.

There is an extremely good one in Norwich, the Games Room, which I discovered in 1981 and where I used to buy White Dwarf and Dragon, but I've not been a regular there for many years, sadly. And I certainly don't know of any other players locally, as I'm now out in a small village several miles from anywhere and with rather curtailed free time.

Ah well. :(

It usually takes me a few tries to pull up a new Oots. Frustrating as all-get-out, but worth it.

I know! I feel like a kid in a candy store. Many of the strips genuinely make me laugh out loud.

Yeah, and don't forget, there's also the two supplemental print-only books available, with even more dungeon-crawlin' goodness. So when you get to the end of the web, hie thee to your local comics shop and grab the softcovers.

There is also a board game based on the first plot in Xykon's dungeon. It's a great game!

I highly recommend the books. Bonus comics, commentary, and a lot of back story and history on the characters. Start of Darkness really fleshes out Xykon and Red Cloak.
