What was up with the 403 error? Was that the scheduled maintenance?
No. I came back from getting something to eat to find it like that. Cue frantic behind the scenes fiddling by the admins. I'll find out what happened ASAP.
As we used to say in my day, far out.
CRSP, You need a mini-fridge next to your desk.
The most disturbing thing about being 403ed was how immediately I went into a full-blown junkie needs a fix NOW! mode.
I almost felt sorry for poor Veb. She posted that she'd been banned.
Me too - I was desperate as hell.Quote:

I sent a letter to the IT department to ask what a 403 error might be. I thought they blocked me.
I thought I was possibly banned too.
I figured it was probably the host. Do you guys really think you might get banned just like that on here?
Me, three. Pathetic, isn't it?Quote:

Hey! Date yourself pal! I still say that now so it's obviously still hip and trendy. 8-)Quote:

OK, it appears that none of the admins changed anything, or at least they aren't owning up to it :D. So the problem wasn't on our end. That means we move to the new server tonight, hopefully. Ugh :(
By accident of course. But what would I do if I were accidentally banned - throw stones at windows so that someone would notice me, alone and out in the cold?Quote:

Hey! Where's that new admin guy? Let's throw stones at him!
We have websense at work and I knew it wasn't that because that gives another message. With 403, I figured out pretty quick that the board was down, perhaps due to traffic or hosting issues.
Hey, it happens.
But you know, I went to that other place during those few minutes...
No I didn't do it. Honest... I was at lunch. I, I was playing cards. I didn't have time to do any coding yet. My computer wasn't back from the shop. An old member came in from the other board. Someone stole my mouse. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts. IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD.Quote:

Sweet, I was wondering how quick someone would pick up on that. Points to you, especially if you look like Carrie Fisher did then.Quote:

OTBE. If they must move the server, they must move the server. Postpone it for a week.Quote:

CRSP, this will not stand, my good man. What are we paying you for?
Eh? Ah. Dreadfully sorry. Carry on.
I had tried to post something and instead of a 403 error I got a page that said I did not have permission to post. Then when I backed up and tried again I got the 403 error page. But for a moment there I had a flash of "What did I do wrong?" Not that I was really concerned about being banned, since I haven't posted enough here to have offended anybody.
Absolutely. Just wanted to know so that someone wasn't in mid-post when it happened. I'll wait to see what transpires.Quote:

That'll learn ya to try to feed yourself and run a message board.

Damnit. There hasn't been much panic or screaming and definitely no fucking in the streets. I feel ripped off.
