Weekly Feud: Merv Griffin's Babies [game over]
Ok - let''s try this. This Feud is about the game shows Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, created by Merv Griffin.
DO NOT READ THIS THREAD BEFORE YOU POST YOUR ANSWERS
READ THE RULES!
Object of the game: Try to think of the most popular answer, to get the most people matching you. Google is allowed, if you desire. Only answers that are "serious" will be scored. Joke answers will not be considered, as it is not fair to other players.
Formatting rules:
If they are not followed, your answers will be DISQUALIFIED.
1. answer
2. answer
3. answer
4. answer
Make your list look like the one above. No double spacing. No periods (except for the one following the number.) No quote marks, no punctuation if it is not necessary! No smilies! No extraneous BS is allowed. If you feel you must qualify your answer, do it AFTER THE LIST!
The reason this is so important is because I cut and paste all the answers, and I have to edit each answer to make them identical. It is a lot of work, so please make it easier on me. Thanks.
Scoring - Any answer duplicated by anyone else is worth 100 points divided by the number of entrants. For example: 50 entrant game = 2 pts per answer. If 4 people match that means they each get 8 pts for that answer. No matches = 0 points.
If any of you have ideas for Feuds -and would like me to score them- PM me.
The game will end either when we have 50 entrants, or at 3:30 PM Central on Wednesday, 03/11/09 whichever comes first.
Good luck!

Re: Weekly Feud: Merv Griffin's Babies
Yes it is, jali.
I asked my question about taking you to the bottom of the thread in "About This" (or whatever it's called ;)) - and they said it was a bug in the quick reply software. If you disable "quick reply" it in your control panel, it leaves you at the top of the thread.
I will add this to the rules for next time, until they get the bug fixed.

Thanks for the Feud, Dolores Reborn! I'll sit this one out, since I have no clue to most of these.
-
Re: Weekly Feud: Merv Griffin's Babies
Dolores, one suggestion. Since we don't have that many potential players here, it might be a good idea to keep the feuds fairly general to attract players. say, "novels" rather than "science fiction novels featuring intelligent housecats."

You have a point there. I thought this being a game forum, that most people would know about these two game shows. I'll loosen it up next time.

Is anyone gonna tell us the actual number of slots on the wheel? I never wanted to know (not a Wheel fan) but now that this Fued bought it up, I'm curious. Evidently not curious to google it, but curious enough to ask someone else to!

24 standard size wedges. The special "million dollar" wedge is actually a third of a wedge sandwiched by two bankrupts.
Wiki article.

Wow, I was completely off. I guess I should have thought about how small a 1-minute wedge on a clock would be.

Re: Weekly Feud: Merv Griffin's Babies [game over]
Woah. 1 win on SDMB, and 1 on DoMeBo.
I don't know why I thought the wedges would be 6 degrees. That would be unreadable.
