Sessions wants U.S. Attorneys to resign

I thought these were civil service jobs? As I typed that, I remember that Christie. Was one before becoming governor, so it seems not.

I think the assistant attorneys are federal civil service, but the actual attorneys are patronage appointments, and pretty sweet ones. Elendil's Heir probably knows more?
