First moves in and both parties cutting off Scholar's Mate

Slow and steady at the moment.
5. f3 is an interesting move to see if the Black Queen was on h4.

Cautious advance from both.
I wanna see blood on the floor! Come on, guys, attack!!!!!

Interesting choice of approach from both. I wonder if both sides will advance pawns slowly with backup until they meet.

I think both of them know where the pawn capture is available, but I think declining it for advancement is the better thing to do. Whoever, makes the first capture is likely to lose more pieces.

That King on e3 is going to come in surprisingly useful
Why do you think so? I already read Malacandra's thinking in the other thread.
Because, if either of the two pawns ahead of him were taken, Malacandra could use the King to determine how much support the attacking piece has by just using the King to try and take the offending piece.
Of course, his next move was d5.
I guess I don't follow you. Would it be because he would be told when he couldn't move into check?

Yes, it would be because he would be told about possible checks.

Looks like pressure on the f5 pawn has been bought to bear.

Wow. Good stuff. That black pawn bears watching... if only he could!
Unlikely, I think White has worked out where the black pawns are.
