Here's the diagram. http://i673.photobucket.com/albums/v...mBlackside.jpg
Is there any way to "flip" the board in order to see from Black's POV? Thanks for your help with this. Much appreciated!!!
Yes, easily done - as soon as Photobucket plays ball I'll sort this out.

Sorry, viewed from within Chesspad it was rotated; once exported, apparently not.
Thanks! Will PM my move shortly. I've known EH for a long time. Never played against him in chess, though. Would he play a traditional game or try something out of book? SIGH He's a smart and clever guy. I'd best be on my toes. <g>
Black seems to have a double disadvantage here. Not only one move behind in the opening, but also not knowing what that first move is -- well, makes it very hard to set up a defense as Black.
Right now, I'm playing as if this were a game of Battleship. We'll see how that goes.
Your f-pawn has been captured. The short diagonal from your king runs from e8 to h5 (four squares; the e8 - a4 diagonal has five).
Yes, there was no alternative to the capture since your King had no other squares.

Thanks!
Seems a bit easier to understand what's going on once the enemy pieces start running into each other. <g>
Current position AFAYK.

And Dr T'Var now sees this:

Thanks for the chessboard update. I'm following along with my magnetic travel set, but it's nice to check and see that my pieces are all in the right place. <g>
