I'm sitting here with a HUGE pile of laundry to put away, which is something that I just really loathe doing. I don't know why...cause it takes so long, maybe? It's so tedious? I always put it off as long as possible, but this week I'm doing it today to get it out of the way. This is my solemn vow.
What I really don't understand is how in god's name can a small family like mine generate SO MUCH laundry?! Now I know why my mom taught us to do our own by the time we were 12.

Oh, laundry is mine, too. Cleaning the bathroom, washing dishes, vacuuming, cleaning windows, cooking, grocery shopping, scrubbing the damn stove...none of it compares to laundry.
It's this horrible, tedious, never ending cycle of wash and dry and fold and put away. I hate it so very, very much. When I get married, the vows of my partner shall be, "To have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, yes I will always do the laundry."
Laundry is pretty high on my hate list, particularly bedding. It's tedious and time-consuming, and the only reward, that fresh clean-sheet feeling, only lasts 1 night anyways.
Oh man I actually really like folding laundry. I make a big pile of it on the couch and flip through pbs science programs online until I find an interesting one and watch it while I fold. Sock matching sucks, though. For me, organizing is a bitch. Figuring out where I want to put files and folders and papers so they'll be out of the way but easily accessible is frustrating.
Litter boxes.
Aquarium water changes.
Scrubbing the shower
Getting sick of mowing the lawn, too. Our tiny yard is very hilly, making what should be an easy chore kind of a pain.
Grocery shopping. I loathe grocery shopping.
It's laundry for me, too. Actually, I notice a smell coming from the basket...
Doing the dishes. It's gross and it hurts my back pretty badly.
Zuul, if you will do the dishes, I will do the laundry.
I actually like washing the dishes. I find it soothing.
Cleaning the bird cage, litter box, or other pet poop place. But, it's probably because it's the one I'm least likely to put off. I mean, I can let my clean clothes lay on the bed a few days, or rinse out dishes as needed. But, when the crap needs cleaning, the crap needs cleaning right the hell now.
Floors. I hate vacuuming, sweeping and mopping. It never feels like anything gets actually clean, because when I'm actually looking at the floor to clean the damn thing, all I see is carpet stains, worn out floor under the kitchen chairs, scars in the tile, etc. I can blissfully ignore them and not look at them for days on end, unless I have to clean the floor.
I used to be horrible with laundry, since I had a separate utility room with a door I could close I let it pile up forever. My current house has no room to let anything pile up, the washer and dryer are in a closeted alcove off the kitchen. I find it really easy now to keep up, just switching loads while watching tv or doing dinner clean up. It helps that we have huge closets so almost everything gets pulled right out and put on a hanger. It's fun to be able to choose what to wear not based on what's clean for a change.
Having laundry on the main floor would be awesome. I must confess that my husband does the actual laundry, he brings to me to fold/hang up and put away. And it's STILL my most hated chore, even though I'm only really doing half of it.

I love folding laundry. True fact. :) And I am very particular about washing and drying it, too. Anal, probably. :(
Sox are easy: all the same, so any 2 make a pair.
I'm not keen on any other household chore, though. I am lucky enough to have a cleaning lady every Friday. But if she happens to do a load of laundry? I actually refold it, sometimes. I confess that with some embarassment, but I confess it just the same.
I don't think that's so weird, vison. I know people who won't even have a cleaning lady cause they don't do a good enough job. See, I'm the kind of person who would love to have one, cause I don't do a good enough job!
Ironing - hate with a passion.
I'm actually very good at it, but I just hate the chore.
If you're including ironing as a component of laundry, that changes my answer!
Hmm, well truly, I guess it doesn't. I have the same cheap iron I was given as a housewarming gift 20 years ago, and I can count the number of times it's been used. Mostly to get spilled candle wax up outta carpets.
Yay for being blue collar and not having to iron! :D
