Seventeen bald eagles
I played hookey today (a sunny warm fall day), and paddled down a section of the Kam river near my home (Thunder Bay, Ontario). Seventeen bald eagles and hundreds of Canada geese. Hitchcock would have loved it.
Lots of class I and shoals, so it was weaving, bobbing, and drifting with the current for five hours. And looking at the birds: a bald eagle convention, followed by a Canada goose invasion.
Back to the office tomorrow.

Oh, that sounds beautiful. Every time I see bald eagles up close they fill me with a certain awe. They're just such large, powerful looking birds and the white head makes their eyes easier to see than on darker headed birds, making it tempting to project personality on them.

The first time I saw one up close I couldn't get over just how big it was. Sounds like an awesome day.

Few things better than seeing an Eagle overhead. I see the Goldens every once in a while around here and of course Ospreys but somehow Ospreys are not as impressive.
Sounds like you had a good day on the water and considering even a bad day on the water is better than a day at work. ...
