I have to say, I have never heard of half of these songs. So, some songs won because I'd at least heard of them. Except for Monster Mash. That is such a stupid fucking song that I feel embarrassed about having typed it just now. The fact that knowledge of it exists in my brain is a source of personal shame. I would vote for Macarthur Park over that song. Hell, I would vote for My Heart Will Go On over it. :Shake:

Also: have you ever listened to the lyrics to Electric Avenue? I hadn't until rather recently, and then I realized that, while the chorus seems to be meaningless pop, the rest of the words are, incongruously, depressing as shit.

I could not possibly agree with you more on this one. Except that, I don't know that I could vote for Celine. I would have to abstain. But yeah, Monster Mash is an awful song and I thoroughly hate it.
