Ham & Swiss is a great combo. On a good Jewish rye is the right way to do it and of course yellow mustard is crap anyway but spicy brown mustard is perfect. Personally I like Gulden's but others are good. Make the pickle a Kosher Dill and hold the slaw.

Ham n' swiss n' spicy brown mustard on rye is one of my absolute favorite sandwiches.
When I was a kid baloney with American cheese was a lunch-time staple.
For some reason we often ate baloney with margarine...which sounds gross now, but I really liked then.
My mom made the skimpiest sandwiches. A deli owner she was not.
I have enjoyed all of these sandwhiches at one point or another, but swiss cheese and spicy mustard has to win. Whatever deli meat's included isn't really important. (and tbh, I would prefer turkey to ham)

Hmmm. Pastrami or corned beef on whole wheat, extra pickles, lettuce, tomato, mayo. Grilled Muenster on artisanal white bread, with caramelized onions and tomato. Gyro, hold the tzatziki. I picked the PB&J as I am a peanut butter fiend.
However please note my objection that none of these sandwiches have bacon on them, which is wrong.
The best sandwich in the world is a ham and cheese sandwich with bacon, lettuce, mayo, mustard and tomato served on whatever bread is handy as this is just a vehicle for me to consume delicious pig meats.
Basically a club sandwich minus the stupid way of cutting it so that you have to take it apart to eat it.
Mozzarella and roasted red pepper sounds crazy good. Could take it in a Southwestern direction and do something like Oaxaca cheese and roasted green chiles, now that it's Hatch chile season...

I would gladly eat any of those sandwiches.
I just ate massive amounts of cheap, Americanized Chinese food. And then I read this and realize how unsatisfying it was in comparison to the possibilities. Damn, that sounds good.Quote:
