Hot sauce recommendations?

Okay so I keep sriracha around and it's nice as a condiment but it's a little too sweet for a lot of times I want hot sauce. I'm looking for something else, maybe around the same heat level as sriracha, or a little less spicy, with a pepper flavor and not too much vinegar. I just tried Frank's RedHot which, it turns out, is not actually red hot but rather a mildly tangy vinegar. Not gonna do the trick. So what hot sauces do you guys like -- preferably ones I could find at a regular grocery store rather than having to hunt for?

Tabasco is the old standby and cultural icon, but it's only slightly hotter and less vinegary than Frank's, so if you don't like Frank's, Tabasco may not do the trick for you.

Tapatio is cheap, reasonably spicy, and has a little garlicky hint to boot. I keep it around the house and use it on almost everything.

Are you just looking for the hottest thing you can find at a regular grocery store?

Tapatio is a fantastic suggestion. It's not incredibly spicy, but adds the right amount of kick to things.

No, not really. I don't need something super hot, but probably on the spicier end of what you can get without ordering online. I'll keep Tapatio in mind, thanks.

I can't really say, I have this hot sauce I get from the mexican foods isle of my supermarket and it's pretty great but for the life of me I can't remember the name of it at the moment. Although this does give us the opportunity to browse hot sauce websites looking for something insane.

I recommend Louisiana Hot Sauce as a basic hot pepper sauce to be used on whatever:

So, like, how hot is it? I don't want to end up with another dud bottle.

If you can get ABC sambal where you are, it might be worth a test drive. It's kind of like a spicy ketchup - much thicker than an American hot sauce. Better for using as a condiment than stirring into foods while they are cooking.

Everyone claims to look down on it here - it's a commercial substitute for homemade sambal, which of course is better - but it's universally consumed.

Sriracha for Asian food.
Tabasco (original), Crystal, or Louisiana for American food (eggs, potatoes, Cajun).
Frank's Red Hot for hot wings.
Tapatio for Mexican food.
Try Me Tiger Sauce for a change. (Extremely mild, a bit sweet.)
Pick-a-peppa sauce (not a hot sauce -- it's sweet and vinegary) is good for blackened appies.
I keep some 'insanely hot' sauces of various small brands for when I want a little more heat.
